No, her family is from Peshawar. I am pretty sure. Even Ranbir's family is from Peshawar yet they are still considered Hindu Punjabis.

no sonams gr8 grnadparents used to stay in peshwar faro.. it ws during the indepedence and india divided into india and pakistan , pak (was east pakistan , now present bangladesh and west pak is now pakistan )... many hindus from pakistan and bangladesh came to the newly formed india . like many muslims left for pakistan and bangladesh.. thats the history :)

like i hv many frnds whose ancestors were from dhaka .. the ancestors came to kolkata during 1947

fari they r hindus.. yaa their ancestors are from peshwar , bt it ws during independence , due to riots hindus and muslims left for the respective countries.. india stayed secular, and pakistan and bangladesh were declared muslim countries..

they r indians , becoz they left pak during independence..

and moreover fari , every1 in pak doesnt mean to b muslims , there r sikhs , hindus still there . like in bangladesh too😃bt they r nt indians.. they r pakistani hindus or sikhs , or bangladeshi hindus .. watever hs happened during the time of division .. exchanges and all ..😃

and yaa , now the ones who migrate and settle like those from pakistan coming to india or the other way indians going to pakistan , same way ones coming to india from bangladesh and viceversa cannot becum citizen in the country the go to settle. and the entity remains as earlier .. 😃

Sonam says "Haan Ji" a lot....its really very cute. I only heard Indians say it though. Her hindi accent is cute...I like how she said "Jhutis" LOL!
