Have you watched the original? It is supposed to be a huge female star and a nobody loving her. So they wanted someone who wasn't exactly a star and a female who was a huge star at that time.

he's good as a supporting hero, not as a hero... he gives me the same vibe as arshad warsi and i did like him in tere mere sapne and munna bhai series also hungama, ones that are coming to mind.. he's a decent enough actor...
