Twinkle arrested, released for her 'obscene' act

Mumbai: Actor Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna was arrested and later released on bail for her alleged obscene behaviour during a recent fashion show, police said.

"Twinkle surrendered before the police on Thursday after which we arrested her. She was accompanied by her lawyer," an officer from Santacruz police station told PTI, adding she was released on a bail of Rs 950 after completing necessary formalities.

"We will arrest Akshay also after he comes back to India in a couple of days," the officer said.

Anil Nair, a Mumbai-based social activist had registered a police complaint alleging obscenity by Akshay during a fashion show where he got his jeans unbuttoned by his wife.

Akshay Kumar's wife and actress Twinkle Khanna was arrested by the Vakola police in Mumbai last evening. However, the lady was released on bail a couple of hours later on paying a bail amount of Rs. 950. Twinkle was accompanied by her lawyer to the police station. However, Akshay, who is also an accused in the case, did not appear because he was out of town shooting for a film.

It may be recalled that a social worker filed a case

against Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna for obscene behavior in public. At the Lakme Fashion Show, Akshay had asked Twinkle to unbutton his jeans and this sparked off the controversy.

I know it was a bad behavior from both aki and he's wife but Seriously, police need to focus on the crime scenes and arrest some people there instead of worrying about this
