 Akshay Kumar promises to get Mumbai to memorise Asian Heart Heartfelt Support Helpline 126126. This time, hot Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar's not a brand ambassador but a Good Heart Ambassador... and he's not endorsing some high-end consumer product but the simple Asian Heart Helpline 126126 that was newly introduced by the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai. Saturday night at a, well, heartwarming event attended by eminent Mumbaiites, Dr Ramakanta Panda, MD and VC and chief of cardiology of the Asian Heart Institute, introduced Akshay in his new role. "He's the right man for the job," said Dr Panda, "because he's particular about his health and cares deeply about the health of fellow Mumbaiites."Stressing that he wanted every Mumbaiite to remember the number 126126 just as Americans did 911, Akshay said, "Whenever people are in an emergency, they don't know what to do and who to turn to. I'm here to make sure that everyone knows that if they see a heart attack, they should call 126126." The helpline has been started to take a heart attack patient to the nearest hospital within 30 minutes of a call being made to 126126. Nita and Mukesh Ambani, who attended the event, also pledged to back the cause.
