Shah Rukh Khan also had a pretty unusual day, on Monday, for someone who was going to be operated upon - in trademark style, King Khan managed to fit the surgery into an otherwise busy day. He was followed by a sea of mediapersons right up to the Breach Candy Hospital gates in Mumbai, where he was in room 404 of D-South.

Apart from friends like filmmaker Karan Johar (who's currently working with him for My Name Is Khan), Juhi (nee Chawla, his friend and business partner) and her husband Jay Mehta, painter Anjanna Kuthiala (who often makes his portraits) and Delhi-based Sanjay Passi (his childhood friend and Honorary Consul for Latvia), some members of wife Gauri's family were also present in the hospital for the surgery.

There was Gauri's mother, Savita Chibba, and her mama and mami, Neeru and Tejinder Tiwari. At around 8.15 pm on Monday night, Tejinder told DT over phone, "Shah Rukh was brought back to his room at around 7.30 pm and the doctors told us that he's doing well. However, he was groggy and wasn't talking much. The doctors also said that the surgery went off okay and that he is 'perfectly fine'. My wife Neeru, Gauri's mom Savita and Gauri herself are with Shah Rukh right now. He isn't talking much, but the doctors said that he'll be out of that state by Tuesday morning. There was a lot of chaos and drama outside the hospital though, as people kept collecting here in hordes to find out about Shah Rukh's health." Anjanna said, "I was in constant touch with Tejinderji and he told me that Shah Rukh was taken to the operation theatre around 4 pm and that the surgery ended at 6.15 pm."

On Tuesday morning, Tejinder updated, "He's much better and is talking now. He's even eaten a little this morning - khichdi, curd and juice. The doctors are yet to decide when he can be discharged. Before the surgery, he'd said that he wanted to spend time with his kids. He spoke to Aryan and Suhana over the phone this morning. The kids didn't come to the hospital."

Shah Rukh Khan was discharged from the Breach Candy hospital in the afternoon. The actor made a quiet exit from the back entrance of the hospital to avoid media glare.

One of his visitors today was Rani Mukherji while yesterday Karan Johar and Farah Khan had visited the superstar. They have been trying to keep things quiet around him to ensure others in the hospital were not inconvenienced.

SRK was admitted to the hospital for a shoulder surgery yesterday afternoon. He was operated on by DR Sanjay Desai. Wife Gauri Khan was with him throughout.
