- By Taran Adarsh, December 30, 2008 - 08:42 IST
Film Cast Plusses Minusses Verdict

Ghajini
Aamir Khan, Asin, Jiah Khan, Pradeep Rawat A perfect film in all respects. Aamir is its USP Difficult to find Earth-shattering collections. 1st weekend [Wednesday paid previews till Sunday] collected approx. Rs. 42 cr. nett [approx. Rs. 70 cr. gross] in India, which is an all-time record. Historic collections everywhere. Has surpassed all past openers. Monday was rock-steady with 70% - 80% collections

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Vinay Pathak Shah Rukh's incredible performance as Surinder Screenplay doesn't hold Hit

Jumbo
Voice-overs of Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Dimple Kapadia, Gulshan Grover, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani An interesting story with good animation Isn't as captivating at times Dull weekend. Got affected due to the 'Ghajini' wave

Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!
Abhay Deol, Neetu Chandra, Paresh Rawal, Archana Puransingh A well-executed subject with competent performances Lacks dramatic moments in the story Flop

Dostana
Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani A different theme, well treated, plus competent performances Second half could've been more convincing Steady at few multiplexes. Due to its high price, average

Well this was expected.
I read somewhere that it has surpassed Gadar , the biggest blockbuster of all times. Aamir marketed his film extremely well.

Hmmm....I agree. More than the film itself , Aamir and his team marketed and promoted the film with some real meticulous planning... the effort seems to be paying off. 😆....It hasn't surpassed Gadar yet....there is still a week to complete with thumping figures if Ghajini needs that status.
