Shobha De is one of those pseudo-intellectuals who use their talents everywhere except where they are required to. Who is she to comment on Sona's and Deepika's looks? Did anyone ask her? I mean , if you are a writer , write about things and isuses that matter.....don't go about commenting on people. I mean , is this woman senile already?

Perhaps it is just me but I really don't see what is so funny about Sonam's comment. If Shobha De thinks Deepika is an ordinary girl, then that's her opinion. If Shobha De thinks Sonam lacks sex appeal, that's her opinion. If one thinks Sonam is the sexiest girl alive, that's their opinion. Just like everyone else, she's allowed to form an opinion and express it in a non-inflammatory manner. She should not be subjected to ridicule merely because her opinion differs from the general consensus (?) or because she's a prolific author.

Personally, I don't find Sonam's response funny or in good taste. I've noticed she seems

to have a high and mighty attitude towards most things. So Shobha De can't comment on

people because she is a "po*n" writer? And what the frak on earth is a po*n writer? I've

only heard of "erotic fiction" writers. What Sonam said has left a bad taste in my mouth. She

needs to get off her high horse and realize when you're a public figure, you should be

open to all kinds of criticism. Personally, I feel Shobha De tends to run her mouth, but at the end

of the day, its her opinion and she is as much entitled to it as an audience as we are. Why does it matter

what she does? Heck she can stand on the streets in the middle of the night to hand out b%&w jobs and her opinion would still be as important as yours and mine and thats because she is a member of the audience just like you and me. She pays money to watch their films just like you and I.
