BIG predictions for 2009!

Just when our celebrities were over the moon with wax statues at Madame Tussauds and honorary doctorate degrees, fear of an impending recession has pulled our stars right back to the ground.

TOI gives a crystal ball gaze this Diwali, on who'll have a cracker of a year.

"Star prices are expected to take a beating, with the exception of Akshay Kumar, who is better placed than the others as per numerology," numerologists Sanjay B Jumaani and Swetta Jumaani say.

Numerologist Niraj Mancchanda adds, "Corp-orates will refuse to pay Rs 25-35 crore to actors, so they'll have to slash prices."

The Jumaanis also predict that the year ahead doesn't look too good for King Khan, "SRK will be entering his 44th year, and 44=8, Saturn or Shani, is not one of his favoured numbers. His forthcoming film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi adds up well, ditto for Billo Barber. Akshay has now entered his 42nd year, and 42 = 6, Number of Venus, planet of entertainment. Akshay is a No 9 in numerology and 2007 added up to 9, the year when he started to do well. "
But if some get off to a cracking start this Diwali, some will fizzle out after a few bright sparks.

Niraj says, "The biggest flops of 2009 will be Salman Khan's Veer and Akshay Kumar's Blue, which will entail losses between Rs 30 crore and Rs 50 crore. With Blue's release, Akshay will have the first flop of the year and then will give a hattrick of flops."

Astrologer Vipul Saxena predicts three explosive releases in 2009, with one international award. "You may also witness a change of stream, as some actors can turn to direction, while singers may join the actors' studio," he adds.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will have a blast at the BO, predicts Niraj, as will 3 Idiots. "SRK will make money with Billo Barber and even though My Name is Khan is not alphabetically correct, it'll do good business. So will Housefull. Kambakkht Ishq will scorch screens, but Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor will not be credited. The entire credit will go to Sylvester Stallone, director Sabbir Khan and Aanuu Mallik. Ghajini will last as long as Aamir's craze does. Main Aur Mrs Khanna will not work at the BO, while Chandni Chowk to China will entail loss to Warner Brothers. Yuuvraaj comes to the same number as Subhash Ghai's earlier film Trimurti. Need I say more?"

But then what lies in store for the Shahenshah? The Jumaanis say, "Big B must guard against stomach problems… he didn't get off to a great start the moment he entered his 67th year. However, bahu Aishwarya is a No 1 Scorpion in numerology and is soon going to enter her 36th year, and 36=9, is one of her better numbers.

Post 36, it would be even more eventful as 37th would mean 1, one of her best numbers. So in all probability, a Junior Abhishek cannot be ruled out in the next two years." As for hubby Abhishek, Niraj predicts all the right noises from critics for Dilli 6. The film will also get Sonam Kapoor noticed.😃 He says,

"Imran Khan will give one hit — Delhi Belly. Harman Baweja will be appreciated in Victory. Rajniti will be Ranbir Kapoor's first hit."

More directors will tread the New Age films way, says Bollywood tarot card reader Sunita Menon. "But even if budgets go for a toss in Bollywood, what with recession looming over, the top bracket — SRK, Salman, Akshay, Hrithik and Aamir — will remain untouched." But as the Jumaanis sum it up, "Only time will tell how well our Bollywood stars will handle the stars above, governing them!"

This doesn't make any sense....First they say SRK's entering his 44th year and the year won't be good for him but will be good for Akki. Then they say all SRK's movies will do good but Akki wil have flops. Did I read something wrong?

well i dun believe in it at all...but still lets c wat happens..btw according to predictions salman wuld ve a string of flops..so wuld akshay...well ve to c wat it goes like..but different numerologists ve different predictions...i heard some1 saying that yuvraaj will be a hit n kat will be appreciated for her performance n now some1 is callin it a flop...if the numerologists are'nt on da same decision how can v simply believe wat each of dem says...

I don't believe in this at all. I read a same kind of article in 2007 which said tht would be he worst year for SRK. CDI, OSO ad KBC would be flops but it turned out to be the best year for him.

Hopefully RNBDJ and BB, both will be blockbusters
