Salman Khan seems to have a thing for introducing co-stars who resemble his ex-girlfriends. Remember Sneha Ullal after his break-up with Aishwarya Rai? And now with the rumours of his relationship with Katrina Kaif being on shaky ground, the actor has chosen a Kat lookalike for his film Veer.
Mumbai girl
Salman's heroine (her name remains undisclosed because she wants it to be a Bolly-friendly name and is in consultation with a numerologist) is a Mumbai girl, who lives in Versova. The 5'11 girl bears a striking resemblance to Kat. A production guy from the unit, who has seen her, says, "I thought she was Katrina Kaif's sister but it turns out they are not related. The resemblance is uncanny."
It begins...
A source from the unit reveals, "The auditions for the new face opposite Salman has been on, for a long time. We've already screen-tested 30-odd girls and he didn't particularly like any girl." The makers wanted a girl with a fair skin, so she could pass off as a white girl. The story is based in the 1900 just at the peak of the British taking control over Indian provinces. Sallu's new leading lady is currently going through various classes for acting, diction, dancing etc to polish her on-screen act. The shooting for Veer has already begun and Salman has shot for a song, with a few passing shots of the new actress."
Next shoot stint
The next stint for the film will take place in March, and the actress will be part of that schedule as well.
Producer Vijay Galani and director Anil Sharma refused to comment.
