Anubhav to sign Shah Rukh and Sunny!
4 Aug 2007, 0000 hrs IST, AGENCIES
If you see Sunny and SRK stylishly bashing up the baddies, you'll know it's Anubhav running the show!

He's already made a mark for himself with his stylish films, and it was only a matter of time before he signed up the A-grade lot. And director Anubhav Sinha has done just that.

He's now talking to none other than Shah Rukh and Sunny Deol for his next films.

The buzz is that SRK is quite kicked about working with Anubhav and although things have not been finalised there are chances of the King Khan giving the nod, especially since it is a story he likes.

Also, Sunny could be in the running for another film. Imagine what Sinha can do with the likes of these two awesome actors - now if you see Sunny and SRK stylishly bashing up the baddies, you'll know it's Anubhav running the show!

Karan grilled on Koffee!

A taste of his own medicine: Karan Johar with Ranvir and Vinay

He's buzzed the lie-o-meter at some of the biggest stars in Bollywood. However, the tables have now turned on Karan Johar.

The host who loves to toast his guests on Koffee with Karan was the first celebrity guest on Star One's new show, Ranvir, Vinay aur… Kaun? and sources reveal the director had everyone in splits.

Apparently, he wasn't too thrilled with Ranvir and Vinay for digging out his role as a fat kid on a TV show called Indradhanush; in fact, KJo begged them to let his past remain buried! Among other things, he was asked about the much talked about Bipasha-Ronaldo kiss but refused to believe it was a kiss in the first place.

"Karan claimed it was all about the way the photograph was taken. To this, Ranvir and Vinay said they could demonstrate how a kiss is always a kiss!" reveals a source.

The episode will air on Monday at 10 pm on Star One.

"God looks after good people" : SRK
Brand SRK in his new lean mean avatar talks about life, his favourite sport and Sanjay Dutt.
Its not often that Shah Rukh Khan chats about ordinary, everyday issues, but when he does, people strain their ears to listen. Thats the power of the Badshah.

After a long break, SRK is back in the thick of action, promoting his film Yash Raj's Chak De and shooting for Om Shanti Om . Whats striking to the world at this point is SRK's new lean look and long, unkempt hair.

He is looking visibly fitter and younger by the day. Some say I look good and others feel otherwise. When I look in the mirror, I see myself, good or bad.

My daughter Suhana says that when I don't gel my hair, I look like her! And now my hairstylist is thinking of changing my look, King Khan said in mock exasperation over coffee with BT.

He explained his new avatar, so to say. I was on a vacation for a few months and so I just decided to grow my hair. And my lean look, well, I am working out more than ever now. I have taken up sports big time too, because it keeps me fit.

I have got Aryan and Suhana also into it. I am 42 and have to look after my body now, he said blushing.
Fitter yes, younger and hotter, certainly. Is that how he is planning to change the fate of Indian hockey through Chak De?

Spare me! I don't claim to change the world, the actor smiled, adding, Lets put it this way, I started playing hockey for a few months because I love it. So if people see the film and take to playing hockey like me, well, it'll be good.

Otherwise, no problem. He admits to be an ardent hockey player. I love hockey more than soccer. I have played it but not in big way.

Does he believe that hockey is one of the most neglected games in India? All games in India like kabbaddi, basketball, football, badminton, tennis, squash, and golf are neglected. And we grudge cricket because it is getting more importance than all other games put together.

On the contrary, we must applaud the fact that at least in one game India is doing relatively well, said SRK with conviction. Would he object if his son Aryan takes up hockey? Why Aryan, if my daughter Suhana wants to play hockey, I will be fine with it, he added.

He talked about Sanjay Dutt, the topic of hot discussion in Bollywood. Well, we all feel the same about him. Honestly, I am not exaggerating, but Sanju is one of the nicest guys I have known since I came to the industry.

He helped me immensely in every possible way when I was a newcomer. I owe him, said SRK of his friend, who he says is family to him. Whenever I asked him to come over, he would make a point to drop by for sometime, even if it was late in the night.

I cannot relate to anything bad about Sanjay. I have never seen his aggressive side or his famous temper. He has always been so mild mannered and sweet, its difficult to assume Sanju in any other form.

Destiny has its own plans for him, but we can only keep the faith. God looks after good people. I hope and pray that he gets out of this at the earliest.

King Khan and Suniel Shetty to lead Nation-wide Movement for Dutt
It is not surprising how every person in the industry, who knows Sanjay Dutt, has been personally affected by the verdict against the actor.
Mumbai, Aug 3: While the news of a Sanjay Dutt fan having sacrificed his fingers for the actor comes trailing in, friends Shah Rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty are set to lead a nationwide movement professing their support for him.

It is not surprising how every person in the industry, who knows Sanjay Dutt, has been personally affected by the verdict against the actor. A lot of them feel that the affable and child-like actor didn't deserve this harsh a punishment However, while a lot of them are happy with just going tut-tut, close friends like Shah Rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty have apparently decided to gear up and take some action.

According to sources, the two actors have decided to mobilise not only people from the industry but also those from all walks of life. According to a source, "Everyone who knows Sanju is upset with the verdict. It is too harsh. Shah Rukh and Suniel are in constant talks as to how they can help the cause. They have decided to launch a huge movement throughout the country, taking help from different unions, associations and people. A lot of the common people are also feeling that Sanjay should have been shown a little more leniency."

Apparently, Suniel has already spoken to the hotel association and rickshaw unions, soliciting their support for Sanjay and they have agreed. The buzz is that the actors will also draft a petition, which will be signed by many prominent people in the city. When contacted, Suniel refused to divulge any details. However, he said, "We have to do something for Sanju. Just wait and watch!"

Sixteen new girls as your co-stars in Chak de India.. this must be a first. After working for so many years, one becomes a little mechanical. The girls had never acted before. They would say their lines of dialogue in a completely unexpected manner. It was strange for a while but then they sounded so very right. Often, I would say my lines, and asked them to react. It was all very unlikely and new. Some of them must be your fans.. right? Before the shoot, we had several reading sessions which made things casual between us. The girls must have been about five or six when they saw my films. They would seek my advice. During fun moments, they would kiss and hug me. We became co-actors. Did you learn to play hockey? Or is that acting? The game's not new for me, I used to play hockey in school. But when I played for the film, I sucked,I was really awful. I have no stamina left.. the technique of hockey has changed. Astro Turf itself is very tiring. It's shameful to accept but this, I thought I would be able to beat these girls but they kicked my butt. While playing with them, I realised that it would be better if I use my status as a superstar and not practise at all.. (laughs) To be honest, I did Chak de because I wanted to play hockey. Since I lead a very protected life, it was very refreshing to be on the ground.. to feel the air brushing my and sweat trickling down my body. It was like getting a few days of freedom which I know of, but have not lived for many years. Earlier, if I could run for 10 km, now I can't go on for even three or four km. But it's still so very important to have some sports in your life. I play soccer every Sunday now. For years, you have been a conventional lover boy with crazy hair and moist eyes. Of late you have been experimenting with your looks and characters. Why? I am just an actor. It's often said, "SRK decides his role and films." That's incorrect. I am not one of those actors who goes to a filmmaker, gets myself cast and then become a ghost director. I am an employee of my director and producers. So if Amol Palekar asked me to grow a moustache, I did that. In Don, Farhan (Akhtar) wanted a stylish look, so I followed his instructions. Here too, (director) Shimit Amin and Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) said, "You have never had beard." So I said, "Let's do it." But these are minor points. A look makes no dif- ference. SRK will always remain the actor he is. How did it go with the beard? You have always been clean-shaven. Oh, a beard's very scratchy When you wake . up in the morning and take a bath, you still don't feel clean. I'm not used to a beard because I shave every day . You wash your face and water sticks to your beard. It's very stressful. Also, I have grey in my beard and I have to keep dyeing it. It sticks on your skin, so it's not a very good pleasant experience. I hope I don't have to grow a beard for another couple of years at least. Have you read your biography by Anupama Chopra.. are you satisfied with it? I haven't read it. Anu did offer me a peep into the manuscript but I refused. I guess reading about my life would be very boring. Also I told her that if I do read it, I will want to change it. So I'm fine with the way it is. But certain chapters talk about your links with the underworld. Are you fine with that? It would be unfair to hamper anyone's cre- ativity I have read Anu's other books, I have . full faith in her. The book is about me.. and Bollywood through my eyes. It's not about the underworld. I have received feedback from all corners of the world, saying it makes for an interesting read. I guess that's more important than anything else. Can the SRK brand value make a film succeed? I don't know. Chak De India doesn't have anything that works conventionally in the Indian film industry It doesn't have a hero- . ine, there's no romantic angle, no songs. It does have 16 new girls, which is kind of unique. It does have Shah Rukh which is okay but even his films have failed. So even that can go wrong. A good film is a good film. The SRK brand can't make a film good or bad. I have not created any brand for myself. Other brands have made SRK the brand he is. Every film I do takes away a part of my life. The brand SRK might not be that significant but that part of my life is. For that, I would want the film to have some moments of good cinema. Soasinsport,cinemaisallaboutwinning..isn'tit? No ,it's not all about winning.. or losing. It's more about team spirit for the nation. Patriotism is not about praying for India to win and Pakistan to lose. That's a wrong perception.. and it needs to be changed.

Sexy Rocking Khan

SRK is clearly and undoubtedly a 'cut' above the rest!

The Bollywood Badshah's new look is a cut above the rest.

Khantastic times are here again with Shah Rukh Khan back in the city after holidaying with his family in London. And he's looking sexier than ever (if that's possible!). He's 'hair', there and everywhere! Badshah Khan's new longhaired look is the talk of the town, not to mention the lean, super-sculpted bod, but then again, when it's Shah Rukh, everything about him is newsworthy isn't it? His smooth tresses are definitely very becoming, adding to his sex appeal and charm. Dilshad Pastakia, his hairstylist, was in a way responsible for the cool ponytailed look SRK had sported for a while. He reportedly went on record and said that since Dilshad was on maternity leave with her first born Dalai, he had no choice but to wait till she could cut his hair. That's loyalist Khan for you. She's the lucky lady who gets to run her hands through his smooth, dark hair.

"SRK's long hair currently is not really a look as such. But when it's SRK, I guess it becomes a 'look'. He's just growing it out and it's not for any particular film. When he had the ponytail earlier, he looked fab in it! I don't understand why people think he doesn't change his hairstyle, because he does. He doesn't need to do radical stuff like go blond to look different. He's Shah Rukh Khan! Even the smallest change makes a huge difference and becomes the talk of the town, rather world I should say, because his persona is so powerful. I think long hair suits him as much as any of his other looks have. Everyone's gonna want their hair the SRK way now," says scissor-happy Dilshad.

SRK is clearly and undoubtedly a 'cut' above the rest! Other than creating a different look for himself off screen, SRK's also creating a point of difference in his films. His next release, Chak De, sees him in a new avtar - not the romancing SRK we have seen of late, but a driven and passionate coach of a girls' hockey team. Chak De is releasing in August, just around Independence Day - patriotic fervour at its best - the SRK way.

Some girls won't bite a biscuit out of Shah Rukh Khan's mouth!

Friday, July 13, 2007 (EST)

Dia Mirza, while filming a commercial, played so coy about biting a biscuit out of Shah Rukh Khan's mouth that she just couldn't get the scene right resulting in repeated re-shoots.

13 July 2007 (Sawf News) - A commercial being made by SRK's Red Chillies entertainment and directed by Vishal Punjabi required Dia Mirza, playing SRK's wife, to make-up after an ugly spat by teasingly biting a biscuit out of his mouth.

The Miss Asia Pacific (2000) played so coy about getting close to SRK that she just couldn't get the scene right resulting in repeated re-shoots.
The shoot that should have taken just a few hours stretched out for the whole day.

It wasn't until SRK had eaten 27 packets of biscuits that the 25-year-old finally got her act right.

"Dia was embarrassed as it took her a while to take away Shah Rukh's biscuit. But she is very sweet and we had a wonderful time filming the commercial," says Punjabi

What is up with Dia? What was she worried about?

If anyone had to be worried it should have been Gauri Khan, say all the girls in our editorial staff, who also claim they would have bitten SRK's lips along with the biscuit! Maybe with a bitten lip, Punjabi would have been forced to repeat the shoot!

Loosen up Dia!

After seeking help from The Women's Hockey Association of India for SRK starrer Chak De India, Yashraj Films has kept the association in dark about the actual portrayal of players in the film

Posted On Monday, July 16, 2007
Ranjib Muzumder

After three disappointing films, Kabul Express, Tara Ra Rum Pum and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, there is still no peace for Yashraj Films. Their trump card, Chak De India, reportedly, has run into trouble even before it has released. The Women's Hockey Association of India is pretty upset with Yashraj Films and has demanded a screening of the film to see if they have portrayed the players in the right manner.

Vidya Stoke, President of the Women's Hockey Association of India says, "We want to see the movie before its release. Couple of years ago, when the movie was in the planning stage, Yash Chopra sought help from us. We were more than happy to help them thinking that it would create awareness about the sport in the country. They took a lot of inputs from us and it has helped them big time in making the movie. It's only fair that we get to see it before the release"

She added, "However, after we helped them out with research, we never heard from them. Now, we got to know that the movie is releasing very soon, but they have not kept us posted about it. We should have been given the script of the movie so that we could have an idea about how they have portrayed women's hockey in the film. We want a pre-release screening of the film. That's it."

Chak De India is based on the women's hockey. The movie shows women players from different corners of the country. The entire team enacts a team of underdogs and how things change with a new coach (Shah Rukh Khan) at the helm of affairs.

The team of underdogs gets their self-confidence, and finally wins a championship.

Stoke lets us in on the reason behind her displeasure. "Our women's hockey team is doing really good. If they are showing that they are turning women hockey players from zero to hero, that's really unfair. That will reflect badly on our team. A coach enables players to perform well and never transforms them from zero to hero, not in our team at least," she said.

She finally says "If they are portraying us in a bad light, we are going to take serious action against them."

Yashraj Films' spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.

Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in 'Hey Baby'

16th July 2007 09.01 IST
By Agencies

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly done a cameo in Hey Baby which is the debut venture of director Sajid Khan , whose sister Farah Khan has directed both her films with the King Khan in the lead.

A source said Sajid wanted SRK to make an appearance in his directorial debut and when he requested SRK to put in a guest appearance in 'Hey Baby', SRK agreed without second thoughts. His only condition was that Sajid would have to wait until SRK returned from his family holiday in London.

he allotted dates to the anxious debutant director.

SRK and Anupam Kher had created a very special chemistry in 'Chaahat', Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , and Paheli .

Apparently Sajid tried to recreate the same crackling chemistry in the Kher-Khan scenes and songs during the shooting held earlier this week.

Reportedly, the crew was in splits watching the duo's antics. The unit had a ball. Loud laughter kept emanating from the studio floors.

'Hey Baby' stars Akshay Kumar , Vidya Balan , Fardeen Khan and Ritesh Deshmukh in main roles.
