that scene was similar to ddlj except she woke up alone. myra being myra assumes the worse. he will tease her for a bit, and then reveal that he is not the type of guy to take advantage of her.

this is the first time in ages i like a male character on an indian show. the two shows i tried to watch last year the male characters were so disappointing, so were the female ones actually.

i really like kabir so far. i was more disappointed by her friends. what kind of friends she had that didn't try to look her up when she disappeared after the drinks? my friends would never do that.

@bold : We don't know what transpired that night. I am sure her friends tried to call her but Myra did not pick up & neither did she inform them before leaving for Mumbai. Her convos with her friends seemed to have hinted towards that. They clearly care for her.

I am also more inclined to believe that they didn't sleep together. But the narrative is clearly ambiguous right now. Kabir mentioned he's not that kind of a guy but he also spoke of Myra being embarrassed after that night. I don't think Myra's assuming the worst either.. she wasn't exactly shocked when she woke up, rather she seemed sad like she had made a huge mistake.

Kabir teasing her about the night would be the last thing I'd like to see honestly..its not really funny.

Now that I have seen the episode I feel there is no ambiguity in anything. It is very clear that they did not get intimate in anyway. Their interaction before also indicates that nothing transpired that night. It's a very normal conversation between two people. There is no hint of the attraction either of them feels. When Kabir helps Myra up, she very clearly leans forward as though feeling sick and wanting to throw up. The scene end with her feeling dizzy and looking sick. Embarassement can equally follow a night of brazen drinking if a person makes a fool of him/herself and throws up. I remember waking up in the hospital once and learnt that I was so drunk I threw up on the boy I had a crush on. My friends had no way of getting me home and so had to hail a police car and take me to the hospital before they could take me home and not only did I throw up on Ignacio, I also called him 'dad' and apologized for getting drunk... needless to say, Ignacio remained my 'father figure', but the embarrassment the next morning was inexplicable. I had to go to his house and apologize and well, it is still fresh in my memory 20 Years on! So, to come to my point, Kabir thinks she is embarrassed for having made a drunken fool of herself. Myra on the other hand is the only one who thinks (and who is meant to think according to the creatives) that something more than drinking transpired between the two and that's why she ran. The creatives, I think, make it clear that they did not do it but only Myra thinks that they did.

I'm more worried and curious about the clothes she took out of his wardrobe! Please tell me it was not his boxers that she wore?! 😆 🤣

However, I don't like the narrative choice of the show which is trying to mislead or make audience "wonder" when it involves a date-rape like scenario.

I agree with this. As it is, consent is not something our society as well as pop culture understands very well, I wish I do not have to watch it being shown as funny misunderstanding or worse still as a possible love story trope.

I am really tired of watching everything being justified in the name of omnipotent love. Here so far, nothing is shown which will make it cringe worthy.

I wasn't sure whether to make a new topic on this or just continue this discussion here. Which is better for the forum rank?

So I'm at around episode 8 now. And I have one problem with the show, which has otherwise been going well so far. I find it very hard to believe that Myra thinks she has had intercourse when she has not.

If she thought it was forced, she would complain about it. Her guilt emerges from her feeling that she sort of wanted it and gave mixed signals and probably participated in it. I get all that. Thats not where my problem is.

The problem I have is purely physical: your body does not obliterate the signs of intercourse, especially if it is your first time, which I'm guessing for Myra it is. It is possible for someone to sleep with someone and block it from memory, but, without getting too explicit about it, there will definitely be physical manifestations that you either have or don't have. And I can't believe that they didn't take that into account when they wrote this plot point.

Completely agree with you. And I did have a problem with that initially. But as the show proceeded, I realised that that the CVs did not make any blunder at all regarding the night. Thank you for bringing this up again.

Ending up in his bed was already a bit of a trauma for her; something very much against her old school values. That is one.
Second is that she was badly drunk & had absolutely zero recollection of the night so she assumed the worst. (Rhea made reference to Myra never having a boyfriend etc in 1 of the epis & that she has no clue about stuff.. not sure how relevant this is but just putting it here) But drunk people I believe can forget.
Third, she was already so prejudiced against Kabir that she refused to even think of the facts (i.e the physical feeling of having sex)
Fourth, as you watch on, you'll see that Kabir does deny that nothing happened. But yet she refuses to believe him. It takes her a long time to finally believe his words as he explains the night to her the 2nd time (but in more detail as she finally agrees to listen).

And she believes him not so much because he finally lists down what all that happened factually (despite her unable to recollect). But rather because she finally begins to trust him enough to listen to him & thus takes his word, believing that nothing happened. So the point wasn't so much that the CVs didn't consider the physical feeling of sex & made a big blunder/plothole. I am sure they did given that it comes up in the drama a few times. Rather, the point was to establish how deep Myra's prejudice runs IMO & how she can be so fixated on it against all logic so as to miss the point completely (disregarding you know the feeling of sex etc & the fact that Kabir never harmed her & only tried to always help her & her family) Very Elizabeth Bennet like.
