A placard outside his Shivaji Park apartment says 'Congrats Rahul'. His phone is constantly ringing and he is tired giving interviews. Post his Bigg Boss victory, it's almost as if Rahul Roy has returned to his days of stardom. "This is probably the ninth interview of the day," says Roy. "I had no clue that the show was so huge," he adds. The Aashiqui hero who faded into oblivion after short-lived glory is now ready to take on life and Bollywood with renewed zeal. "Offers for both film and television projects are pouring in. This time it will be different because now I'm settled in life and my focus will be on quality. I hope to enjoy my work," says Roy. We remind him of the unpleasant comments of some of his inmates. "I had the compassion to accept everyone but didn't expect to be accepted by others. The same Kash (Kashmeera Shah) who criticised me returned wearing my favourite T-shirt and apologised. Rakhi (Sawant) is scared to trust people but can easily be won over by love. I treated all the girls as my sisters," says Roy. "For the last 10 years, I have followed the path of spirituality. My wife Rajlakshmi and my father-in-law introduced me to it and helped me discover the deeper meaning of life." Just then, he receives a phone call from Kissen. "Bhaiya, are you okay? I'm trying to reach you since yesterday," he hollers excitedly. So much for the cynics who believe the show was pre-scripted. He rubbishes suspicions on the "reality" element of Bigg Boss. "Aryan is not such a great actor that one has to be to be able to pretend so much emotion," he comments on the Aryan Vaid-Anupama Varma love story. Roy refuses to read more in Shilpa Shetty's victory in the Celebrity Big Brother. "We get what we deserve," he says, philosophically. http://cities.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=219921 |
