@"guilty until proven innocent": The seems to be the operating principle. 😛😆😆 "As soon as a woman charges you under sec 354, you'll be placed under arrest" - seems like a fair protocol. 😛

In India once the FIR is lodged and warrant is issued, you are arrested first and then you can ask for a lawyer later, I think so. In other countries like in States, you have to bring in the suspect first for an interview, with a lawyer present and what you said...

Some of these laws were made since it was required at a particular point of time. But laws are misused by many.
Today if a bahu goes and file one complaint against the in laws, the whole khandaan is arrested - put in jail and then they have to prove their innocence. These laws were/are required due to atrocity many women have to go through but that is not to say people are not misusing it.

Well said Cruiser, you have covered everything in a neutral way. I just wanna add that if Armaan had really intentionally hit Sofiya, I think the housemates would at least step out of the car immediately. Their response to ask for Armaan's eviction came quite late so I don't think it got that ugly. I don't understand why the channel has protected him though. One more thing that annoys me is Sofia and some people comparing her to the delhi rape victim. I mean come on now, that's just undermining that girl's suffering to glorify Sofia. Sofia wasn't at all innocent and some cases can be filed against her too. What happens in Bigg Boss should be left in Bigg Boss.

@BOLD: Plain absurd!...And grave injustice to a most unfortunate girl who lost her life to a bunch of cruel beasts.

Exaggeration knows no bounds. And I won't be surprised if some environmentalist sues Ajaz for his relentless farting and damaging ecological environment! 😲

Cruiserji, I also saw the video. I know that some sections of 354 is bailable. But some are not. Earlier all sub sections were bailable but I think some have now become non bailable after changes in law post the Delhi rape case. But remember that is to squash any anticipatory bail. Court can still give him bail if they think so.

I have a problem here. Many here have already been the judge and have given the guilty verdict against him and also Salman and BB along with him. Similarly many have already deemed him innocent. I would request to please wait for the law to take its course

@BLue There is one issue that is bugging me. i.e. the police arrested armaan only after examining the footage and they found her allegation that armaan physically assaulted her with a mop. If it is true, then he should be arrested and put behind the bar. No mercy, because his intentions was to hit and he has shown his violent side many times in the past even though he has not been physical with any HMs.

But if his intention was to snatch the Mop from her, and in that process if she got hit, what should be done to him?

Then they wouldnt have arrested him in the first place and would've dismissed her allegation

Yes, You are right. But if we discuss we get to learn something from various posts of the forum members. Fortunately there is a healthy discussion going on in this thread.

The police arrested Armaan after seeing the footage. They have all the reasons not to arrest armaan because of his father's and Color's connections, therefore, that leads me to believe that the evidence must be strong that they pulled him out of a TV show and throw him directly into jail.
As per the verdict, I am pretty sure he will get out because these days there is nothing that can keep a person in prison if they have money. Your are making very big assumptions thats that the police just arrest's anybody who files a compliant. Indian police is usually targeted because they fail to arrest the rich and the powerful. The police probably saw merit in Sofiya case, so they went ahead with it. I don't know what country you reside in Cruiserji but in the US I have seen people get arrested and convicted for very minuscule things. But neither you or I have not seen the footage of Armaan hitting Sofiya with the mob stick so its just speculation.

I hope Armaan's arrest sends a very strong message to the contestants and India that violence is not tolerable especially towards women. In India there are stories of rape very to often. The police needs start illustrating to the public that this behavior will not be tolerable and only then will we see any change. Usually, I agree with most of your post but on this one I am on the other end of the spectrum. For the truth to shine both sides need to be heard.

You really believe Police actually satisfies itself of soundness of a case before proceeding ahead with an arrest?😲

Whether you consider the unfortunate Arushi Talwar murder case, or Jessica Lall's or Naina Sahni...SO MANY...you would find them plain greedy and deliberately botching up bad at every stage of the case! 🤔

They may be right in this case...just as they might be terribly wrong, being greedy eying a fat juicy client! 😆
