No body insulted any one... calling a male with female features a chamiya is not an insult whatever he said was true because vivek was talking about his personal life and kushal never insulted gays he just said he is not a gay... Since all gay contestants on big boss have turned out to be liars and coward he is justified in saying that on the show. Well my point was there is a difference between indian gays and gays from other country.

NEWSFLASH: Calling anyone 'chammiya' especially a man, whether he's gay or not, is an insult.

Hey what is so wrong with chakka and chamiya?😃 These are perfectly entertaining words, more entertaining than calling a bitch a bitch or a bas***d a bas***d. These words don't have to be applied to just gays. It is same as calling a man saying he is wearing "aurat ki chudiyan". Would that be an insult to all women? You people need to chill out. Just because we lately became aware of issues like discrimination etal, don't try to mold society into the hypocritical politically correct image of the West.😉

stop getting personal ! reported your post! and we knw frm which society kushal belongs to from his words and actions.. n i did nt say that lower society people shld be allowed to call chakka.. but ya when some one is in glam world this typ of bhviour vll nt be accepted by him at all.. it needs time to teach manners to narrow minded people n kushal is one of them..
p.s. stop getting personal just to defend your favorites.. its cheap

I STILL can't believe that people are DEFENDING this sad excuse for a human being called Kushal Tandon😡 and trying to justify his behavior through absolutely disgraceful logic.
The point is that if you are on national TV, and you are 'idolized'/followed by many people in the audience...you CAN NOT keep on using such derogatory terms for people. You are sending out the wrong message that it's fine to use such terms loosely. And unfortunately, that loser bully Tandon has already done much damage - I can see poor fangirls supporting him in such trashy, uncouth behavior. 😈
Hope sanity prevails!

Seems like this argument is going to be a never ending one. I was avoiding it so far but I will give my opinion...
So "chakka" and "chammiya" are the two words we are discussing right?

I have a few points to make:

1. Often in our society, especially India, when a man is crying or showing some sort of weak behavior, people say "ro kya raha hai, ladki hai kya" or they say "kya ladkiyon ki tara ro raha hai".

Similarly, when there is a girl who is very upright or has a husky voice she is said to be very manly. In fact, on this forum itself people have made fun of Gauhar because of her voice and shouting.

If we talk about equality for homosexuals, then a guy being called a girl, a girl being guy called a guy or a guy/girl being called a homosexual (chakka) should be the same thing. All 3 should be just as bad. Because you are being called, what you are not, based on some perceptions people have. Actually this would apply better to a transgender issue, i.e. if someone was called a hijra.

2. In India, unfortunately, chakka has become more of an abuse than a definition for homosexuals. People use it as an abuse without even pondering about the meaning. Go on the streets and one of the first word being used in an abusive fight is chakka. Kids use when they have a fight.

Hence, I would not label anyone who uses those words as someone who has issues with transgenders/ homosexuals.

3. Even out here in America, or anywhere in the world, people use the word gay very casually. When someone says "that's so gay" ...do they actually think about why they are saying that? To they actually mean to offend or look down at homosexuals by saying that? I don't think so.

In all seasons of BB, someone or the other has used hijra, chakka or words like these. It does not justify it but it just reflects the society in which we live. Those words have become abuses. Its nothing to do with what a person actually feels about homosexuals.
