BB is actually running a psychological experiment where in total isolation, void of their social safety net of family/friends moral support (which we humans need to be human, we are social animals after all) people are dumped with strangers, pinned against each other, and having their personalities stripped through segregation and groupism, through series of degrading, demeaning, punishing, and some down right torturous tasks to break the person and provoke response, so that each week they would have something to preach about. And each week they bring the contestants down from being worked up, rework them and start again...

This is nothing new actually... actual study of similar psychological effects was done 1971 at Stanford University, the famous prisoner/prison guard experiment slated to last 14 days it had to be stopped after only 6 days...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_prison_experiment

based on which a movie was made "The Experiment" with Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker...

BB is milder version but it is for 104 days!

The point is that all the contestants are basically good, caring and loving people stripped down to basic instincts...reacting and doing things they otherwise would not, and it's all for our entertainment gladiator style.

Likewise is this forum... hence the haters... coming to see if there is a bit done in a show by someone or a word said so they can attack... and compete with each other who's gonna post more original bashing statement...and looking for ways to start war of words between groups (fans of specific actor) for their entertainment.

Salman made statements "you have ganged up" and are like "pack of wolves" in a last episode.

I say to him... "but you made them that way systematically and purposely."

This premise be it the show or the forum is totally degrading of humanity in each person and could have consequences... The sword cuts both ways!

Think about... and get in touch with your humanity!

The Stanford experiment was to test how humans react to certain roles that are imposed on them.
Example the authority that was given to the "guards" and how they psychologically reacted to it, and the role of prisoners given.

In this I think you can say the "authority" is the captain, but essentially, it's just Bigg Boss who is the real authoirity in the house.

It's not necessarily testing the same thing, but it is a psychological experiment...or well it is really fascinating to watch from a psychological point of view :)

It shows what contestants are willing to do to win the game.

Well said Lili... not only the contestants, but also many of the the viewers have been stripped bare to their base emotions and react in manners that are both amazing and obnoxious, at times

Great thread Lili šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

It is amazing how people show they true faces, when they think they are the one who can decide on somebody future.šŸ˜³šŸ¤“ They (people on this forum) think that ,like in the old Roman Empire, they can decide somebody fate by šŸ‘šŸ¼ or šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼, based on the show that is totally scripted and directed by BB team 😲. They form their opinion about someone who they do not know at all, based on the edited and completely controlled clips that are served to them (even LF is edited, buffered and mute most of the times, so only the things BB want to show are airing in LFšŸ˜•).

And, as my friend who live in India said, let me quote her here:

"And don't worry about Indian people reactions . If Sachin (God of Cricket) makes 0 in a match they throw stones at his house and if next day he makes a century and make India win the match they worship him. This is how fast Indian viewers change their opinions.."😊

Its not only willing to win the game but it is also regarding surviving the days inside...In the sense that you are not left alone. I have studied in a boarding school and know all about groupism and bullies. In that situation you need to go with the flow if you want to survive. Groupism is very common and in groups you would do things that you wont even think of doing it on your own and you wont even think of as "right" thing to do.

When I was a junior, Several senior girls asked us to Slap another senior girl who use to steal from everyone and made us wash her dirty cloths. Basically the girl was made to sit on the floor and each and every junior girl was asked to first tell her something Nasty and then slap her. the nastier you told her off the bigger the praise. If someone refused then there was punishment for them and believe me the punishment was not one single incident it was a week of torture. Everyone did the task including me But as I grew up I think of that act as one of the worst act I have witnessed in my life. The best way to treat it was go to the teacher and complain about it. But our seniors wanted to teach the other girl a lesson and without getting their hands dirty they were able to shame that girl so much that she left School. If i look at every senior girl, who was part of it , they have turned into nice wives and mothers. But that one day made them monster and it was all about groupism and power.

Lili I agree with your post. It is not easy to live in a house where you know your every single moment is being watched. you cant be free. it is no way like living in your home. Plus the people who are watching are so judgemental that they will bash you for every single little thing
