Imams derogatory and offensive comments about transgenders

Let me start by saying that I know and am fully aware that Imam was referring to Prince clapping when he called him a hijra. While this is certainly not a big deal (as Mandana was also calling Rishabh a woman and just name calling won't change someone) when Imam offered to train Prince on how to clap so as to increase his income as a transgender it became offensive and disgusting.

In a country like India where parents readily kill or throw away transgender children because of family shame and no future prospects, isn't it a responsibility of every celeb appearing on national (and international) television to try and change that mentality instead of trying to say that a particular community just because of their birth are limited and therefore can only earn their living by begging and clapping on the roads. Instead of propagating the society's views about how transgender people should clap in order to supplement their income, Imam could have just shut up and not demonstrated his "mindset and background" just like he keeps abusing Prince and Rishabh at all times.

And tbh when Prince raised the topic with Imam when the task was over that Hijras are also humans and so please don't say such things, Imam realised his mistake which is why he started doing all the drama of group hugs' and lets exclude Prince' as he was aware of the shithole he had opened up by his words. Unfortunately he had already spewed his venom and in doing so contributed towards increasing the neglect and disregard that Indian society shows towards transgenders.

This one part has upset me much more than all the last 90 odd days as while they were abusing each other no one (except Mandana and she is a different story all together) has been taking things to communities and genders.

Do other members also hold such views or do you feel I am being over sensitive? Is there any hope for a change in the society when these so called celebrities can go on TV and broadcast their nonsense??

I know it's sad and is like saying that transgender have no human rights. They feel injustice as it is and don't need it being encouraged by celebrities on national TV

🤗 *hugs* please don't feel sad. it's a sad state of affairs where this sort of behaviour and attitude towards people is bypassed and acceptable. It's also sad that such discrimination isn't flagged up yet there would be an uproar if a comment is made on race or religion. In my opinion they are all equally as bad and unacceptable

I don't like Prince one bit, and really enjoy Imam's antics but here I will say Imam went a bit too far. Before I read your post I didn't really think about it that way so thank you for this eye opening post.
You are 100% right, there's so much lack of information added to things such as these shown on National TV leads to parents in our country shaming and throwing their transgender children to a point where they have to beg for their survival.

Not only transgender, I think a lot of times in previous season on BB, there has been so many homophobic content which was not even censored. Like in season 6 and 7 a lot to an extent where people could have been put in jail if this were happening in some western country. Only season 8 was not that homophobic. At times you see the host itself being a jerk taking potshots under the garb of "just kidding". 🤢

EDIT: Coming to your point if there are forum people with similar sentiments,I remember visiting this forum a few weeks ago and some ignorant members passing highly homophobic comments about Kawaljeet, and how someone of the forum stopped talking to a gay classmate of his because he disliked Imam and gay people, some of them commenting were so ill-informed that they didn't even know a difference between a gay men/women and transgender.

I knew Imam would be downright nasty to Prince

Maybe secretly Imam is attracted to Prince and this is his way of expressing it 🤣

Honestly, Imam is such a bleep I can't stand him

Hated him when he was in BB earlier season, and hate him even more now that he has been given this power over the HMs

He is so pukeworthy 🤢

Here you go one more example, every gay/lesbian person would not be necessarily "secretively" attracted to any random guy he/she meets or quarrels with. This is exactly what I mean by ignorance.

Basically your whole topic is spun around Imam's one action and rest 99 percent is your dramatization

1) He never used the word Hijra Prince use it

2) When prince was clapping he did say that yeah clap ..u will make money

Problem is in daily life in anger we say things which are based on impressions made over centuries and we do not mean it, we do know realize it until we cool down. It happens and it does not mean we hate those people. I seriously think one should not penalize a person for that as while it is technically wrong but 99 percent of the time we dont mean it

In moves there are dialogues like ek machar hijra bana deta hai

In daily life we say to men tu aurat hai as if aurat is a gaali

We use black in bad context. kaala jadoo, kaali aandhi

We use words like moron

we call people deaf and dumb

we disrespect disable calling them langda lulla

There are many wrongs...there are many things we do daily and if someone were to pick one analyze then whole books can be written

Lets not over blow it...i am more worried if someone shows a pattern of hate against others...a random comment does not deserve this scrutiny and to me its reflects ur issue with Imam more than anything

He did say that I respect them and I respect them more than prince
