Hi - I am silent reader residing in Chennai. I thought of writing about Priya as she was one of my favourite contestant of BigBrother Australia including skye and ryan (winner) last season. (BTW that was the last season to be aired in Australia as it is no more a favourite show in Australia). I enjoyed the entire season though there were no major fights.

Priya was the first entrant in last year's BigBrother Australia. In fact the double trouble concept was picked from the Australian version. (People entering the house in Jodis.) Priya was finaliist of BigBrother.

Priya is very brainy /intelligent and smart. Unlike Mandana who pretends to be intelligent and smart Priya is actually smart player. Unlike Indian and British version of Bigg Boss/BigBrother where you will see lots of fights, filthy languages being used, Brother in Australian, US and Canadian versions the participants play mind games.

Priya is too smart and plays mind games very well. Very good in bitching and ignite misunderstandings/fights between contestants. I hope and wish she plays same way without getting into fights. By the look of her if you think she is one of the bad mouthed women who would get into major fights using filthy languages and fights with everyone stay corrected. Ofcourse she will play abla nari if needed.

Hotel task was picked from Australian version. Infact, spitting saga happened very much in Australian version also. No body took it seriously - none of the contestants. In fact, when I still read people writing so negatively about Kish I felt too bad for her. In fact, I feel that she took the waiter role seriously and spit it in the guest's food when she was irritated. When you take pangas with the waiter in hotel/restaurant they take revenge like this only. And that is what Keishwer did. This is a normal thing which happens all over the world. And that is what she did and I appreciate her for playing the game as is. BTW Ryan one of the participant in that BB14 season did the same thing (spitting) in the hotel task and went on to win the season.

The best thing about those versions, hosts never pile on the contestants or give hints of what is going on outside those walls. Hosts may have their own favorites but they dont show that till the participants come out of the house.

My only worry is that our great (?!) host will continue showing his favoritism and screw up the whole show. I would expect each one to play their own game whether it is bitching, dirty politics, good/bad human, quite or what not. As long as it is liked by some section of veiwers and gets support to stay it is fine (e.g, Rimi)

I stopped watching BB9 since last week's WEW after I felt that the host is too biased and this show is not a reality show any more. Now that I see that Priya is coming in I have decided to watch for few more weeks to see how she plays Indian version.

Truely speaking I dont have any favourites. I analyse everybody's ways of handling situations and read the way they handled the situation. Infact I like everyone in the show for showing their individuality whether it is good or bad.

Till now I consider Kisher and Rimi are the strongest in the house mentally. I dont see anyone can match these two for their mental strengths. Especially, Keishwer even after so much of bashing by the host she is still mentally strong without playing either abla nari - cry baby act or using woman card though it might look as if she toned down a bit this week.

+1

The whole concept of BB being a reality show is turning into a big joke with the contestants mending their ways or changing their direction according to the feedback given by the host and whole lot of other people.

I'll give it to all the contestants who stick to their ground and be themselves good or bad whatever and not loose themselves in order to please the host, audience or whatever. People, if at all they have to like you...would like you for your real you, and not a concoction you created based on feedback from various sources.

BTW I forgot to mention about her acsent. I am sure lot of IF members will find issues with her ascent as if they are only ones who lived/live abroad and respective ascent has to be used only by them and no other Indians are entitled to use so. OH! typical Indian mentality.

There are better game players in the Western Versions of the reality show. Bigg Boss relies too much on nautanki, gaali galoch and showmance for content. Even UK's Big Brother has a lot of swearing, but Bigg Boss is kinda childish. And above all, other versions are independent whereas Bigg Boss has too much interference from the host!

I'm glad Priya is making an entry. I think she has personality and will be an interesting addition to the show. Current contestants in the house are not that appealing (IMO)

As for the spitting you mentioned, I'm not surprised they brought it up in WKW. Maybe it's a cultural sentiment thing...I dunno. But frankly speaking, I do think spitting is gross and would never do that to anyone! Makes me sick in the stomach just thinking about it!

Ummm... Good question.

Beauty lies in the beholders eyes!. I dont see her pretty. She has a aunty look. But I liked for her mind games and manipulative skills.

Well said Bohemian and Calvin.. In fact, I wonder if it is the issue with the Indian/British Fans and or show makers. One can see the worst languages and biggest fights only in these two versions. If you take US version... purely mental and physical challenges. No fights. There was one contestant from US (a cop) who went on to win the title that season never got nominated. He played so brilliantly by having two allies all throughout the show and they both revealed the truth that they were allies from the very first or second week onwards. When can we expect our contestants to play such games or rather when can we see viewers expecting such shows.

Coming to spitting issue, even I cant bear such thing happening, but in reality if you take pungas with the waiters or cooks in any restaurant they take revenge on the guest by doing such things. I know that this happens very much in India and I am sure it happens all over the world. If that happens in reality, what is wrong in Kishwer or for that matter whoever spit in that task. I may not like it personally but it looked real to me.

Ahh miss hay phir.

About the spitting incident I do agree that waiters do spit when they are pissed but that doesn't mean it's right. Moreover if they see such a thing on national television they will do it more.If their potential guests can do it,then why not them?
