This is an honest attempt on my part to understand why do people love Gauti? And I am expecting answers that might help me in my understanding the reasons for his popularity.
I understand when Gautam Gulati fans point out how Tanna fans are blind towards her 'infidelity' but I am rather appalled at the fact that what keeps them supporting Gautam Gulati.
As rightly pointed out, Gautam never takes stand for others, rather always laughs in the background. He always consider it as his birthright to poke others, infringe upon their personal space, make derogatory nasty comments (to display his sad cool quotient) but 'oh-my-god' is so touchy and sensitive that 'please don't make fun of me'. Everyone including Sambhavna didi, Praneet-Pritam bhaiyya and Rahul brother (whom he hardly met 3-4 times) have been insulted by him.
Recently evicted Sana Khan said that it's hard to talk to Gautam normally. He's acting all the time. "I felt like saying him 'cut' during the conversations"
Kapil Sharma also mocked him saying that "You have already been selected for the bigg boss, you may stop auditioning now"
Sonali Raut also expressed her surprise on watching the episodes after her eviction. In her words, "Gautam is very immature, the HouseMates make fun of his silly antics all the time I am surprised how he's portrayed as a hero on TV."
Why do his fans not see through this fake portrayal ?
It has been a long time since the show started and I still wonder what keeps his fanbase strong!! He's clearly not the best in the tasks. Neither are his logics coherent (let the host ask a question and he'll embark upon a never ending self-serving sermon by the end of which he would have insulted 10 other housemates).

But anyway, he is hero of the show for the audience raised on the pedestal by the makers and the host.""Gautam is constantly being warned about his image. First his mother came during a task, then his friends Rahul Mahajan and Sambhavna Seth entered in the house and gave him some tips, then his brother came and badmouthed Karishma & Upen. Tourists came during task, Snapdeal caller and recent wild-card Ajaz Khan also warned him about his image outside. Finally, the friends Rahul and Sambhavna came in to replace Puneet and baby-sit him."

Why do people continue to support him blindly?
I wonder, is it because we don't have another drama queen in the bigg boss house, we continue to blindly ignore his antics and selfishness?
Is it because his long sermons, mumbo jumbo and filmy dialogues sound so good that we get lost in them and can't see through his fakeness(his eye expressions are a direct lift-off from Shah Rukh Khan).
