BTW - I have never made a post about UpMa being responsible for the increased TRPs. And I was expecting that you will only debate with real facts, and not just "news stories" that suit your convenience.
I did debate on real facts only .. but since u r not ready to believe TOI as credible nor u r ready to believe who actually started the upward trend in trps and from which week going by trp history of BB8 .. so I said its all about convenience 😳... I m actually stating facts only when I say Gautam is the most popular or this season is running around Gautam only because thats what all tabloids claim which according to u r not credible but according to me it is credible .. so what is a fact for me , is not a fact for u ... we cannot reach to an agreement here .. can we ? 😳
I agree with you that the point here is not about good or bad journalism.
Credibility of any news piece however is another matter. There are some things that we can easily question and doubt. Like, a statement such as: "The TRPs increased because of xyz". We can easily question this because we are watching the show, and we only need to know the period over which the TRPs were compiled, and then to think back - about how true that statement could be. This is an easy task. It is quite objective.
Awards are not objective. The process of selecting the jury, the nominees, and the final awardees is never transparent. And even then, you may not, but many people do question the results.
Curiosity and a spirit to question are intrinsic to human nature - and this is something we do all the time. Subconsciously, I never just listen to the news. I always weigh it in my mind before accepting it.
I do the same too .. I do weigh things before in my mind before I pick my favourites in every season of these reality shows 😳 ...
Reason why I talk about trps is because I watch a lot of daily soaps and reality shows too and hv been doing this sort of trp analysis for 7-8 yrs now on IF ... BB8 is not the only forum I m doing this .. u can find me in many other forums too doing the same about why this week got more or less trps .. I m doing no different here 😆
Again when I say trp is because of XYZ , I m not assuming but stating based on facts only since first time trp of bb touched 2.5 during gautam city task week and since then its been on rise .. before that it was always between 1.8 to 2.2 ... so my analysis is based on this data
Perhaps I can also tell you from my own experience why I think TOI and Mumbai Mirror are complete failures and have no credibility.
Last year, a member called Cruiser uncovered enough proof to show that Sangram Singh is not a real wrestler. TOI and Mumbai mirror would routinely publish such "news" about Sangram's greatness and his list of fake achievements that have done India proud.
When Cruiser and I contacted these news outlets, we wrote so many letters placing the facts before them; and even after a lot of effort, when we got one editor to agree to retract the false articles and publish an apology - in the end, he did not.
I know from first-hand experience that they do not do their research well enough before publishing the news, and they don't even bother to correct it when the facts are placed before them.
Such wrong or misleading infos come out in all tabloids , magazines and even news channels .. but that does not mean we completely ignore the credibility of other news it gives... that same newspapper also spoke about Gauhar as sureshot winner of BB7 weeks before finale due to her immense popularity and it did come true .. and same newspaper too spoke about Upen's sudden comeback before any other sources gave the news and it was also true .. oh and not to forget TOI were first to inform about extention of this season too
Anyway - as always - if was fun debating with you. Now that I know that you were only just speculating for convenience, I won't go on any further. 😳
When I said convenience , I was talk about how in general we believe and disbelieve things as per our own experiences and conveniences because whats a fact for me may not b a fact for u and vice versa .. 😳
