don't think so.. actually Pr2A were and now PrA are...
Upen only became a villain due to his reaction that o nly his friends being evicted... to avenge this he became a villain even going against Tanna his friend, just like Shakuni who became bad for the sake of his sister... Praneet well defined Shakuni... I guess thats why Salman asked Upen the question of "who was Shakooni?" to him.. if he went in dept to know Shakuni he would have known how to react better to the situation, but he was unaware and thus reacted like Shakuni did...

Larki ke aage sab sar jhukate hain, Sikandar-e-azam bhi larki ke chakkar mein aya thaa... Akbar-e-azam bhi jodhabai ke saamne sar jhukate then... Lekin Gautma ki to phatela kar dia tha, rula dia tha, yahan tak ke mansik santulan bigar dia tha... Accept the fact, it will make you great. Now you will see psyco Gautam.
