He didn't directly nominated Dimpy nor he saved Ali from pool of nominated HMs. From Dimpy's point of view, she is right to feel bad that Gautam didn't save her. He took a decision as a captain, unlike all other herds saving their friends only, I respect him for what he did. It takes a lot to be unbiased when everybody is there to judge you. All the haters would still be hating him even if he had saved Dimpy, so there is no end to it.

he could have saved Dimpy and yet be fair...ask how!

Ali and Dimpy both worked equally...but Dimpy had an added advantage that she helped Gautam in getting the captainship... so if Gautam wd have saved Dimpy over Ali then he would have still appeared fair and unbiased!
