Haha! Could be the case that you communicate in a different language on a daily basis ie for work or personal reasons ?

I know so many auntie here who have stayed 20, 30, 40 plus years in UK and still have very poor English. I also have an uncle who has been in Abu Dhabi for 15 years and can't speak Arabic. He deals with international clients at his wrk and only communicates in English.

It depends, in Upen's case he was once a Bollywood actor and in a show that requires him to speak Hindi. It is expected he will follow rules and not give any excuse.

Anyways, how many languages do you speak anyway except Kannada lol.

I'm Bengali living in England. But I can speak Hindi,Urdu quite well & I understand & speak a little punjabi just from watching tv and from friends.obviously I speak Bengali & English.

English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Kashmiri.

I was born and brought up in the UK but speak Hindi fairly well. Upen has lived in India for around 10 years (as Salman Khan mentioned) so then how come he has not been able to pick up the language despite living in that environment all these years? They say the best way to learn another language is to be a part of the culture!
