So I may be completely wrong here, but I have a feeling the tasks this year aren't as interesting/challenging as they were last season. Contestants seem to be running around velle most of the time, just doing things of their own.

I feel Bigg Boss needs to keep them occupied and not give them this much free time.. but I could be just imagining stuff

As the seasons are progressing the tasks are getting less and less creative and meaningful. They are mostly around Luxury Budget. Earlier seasons Luxury Budget used to be a one off thing and tasks were performed throughout the week.

Even the punishments given by BB used to be crazily creative and fun.

Nowadays the tasks are merely a way to show how low a human being could fall - for the sake of One loaf of bread - it includes giving gaalis, beating each other up, tearing characters to shreds, betraying friends - you name it, they'll do it.

I always say Participants of this show are like the performing monkeys in a circus - this year the Ringmaster (BB) and the Monkeys both have no clue on what to do to give us the true return for our ticket money.
