exactly at this age she should be chilling having fun in a college/university with people her own age. Taking the first step of what she may be interested in doing in her life. Not dealing with supercharged overwhelming situations like this show throws at you. I hope she sees a therapist of some sort takes a break and finds herself once she gets out of here.
