Asim's dilemma and Sid's true colors

In the beginning everyone thought Sid was a super angry unreasonable man, and everyone kept complaining to him about it but it took Salman a while to acknowledge it. BB gave subtle hints (such as saying how can Sid be so logical yet aggressive), but until BB clearly expressed that Sid was going in the wrong direction (2 week automatic nomination), Sid finally realized this aggressive worked so far but has to now stop. Then, he switched his game and now - seeing Salman enjoying the Sid/Devo drama during the waxing task he is doubling down on it. Sid is really good at one thing - and that is taking feedback. Mahira, Paras, Rashmi get feedback as well (sometimes embarrassingly via Salman), but even then they don't tend to think from the audience's perspective. Sid has taken every hint he is given by the show/Salman and immediately takes effect. When Salman expressed that Sid/Sana were both favorites during their fight, Sid realized that he needs to patch up with her and in the first chance he got (when she came to him when he was sleeping) she hugged him. Similarly, when Salman expressed that Asim is the only guy who doesn't look diplomatic in the house, Sid hugged him as soon as he saw the window of opportunity (when Asim was casually offering him hairspray). This shows that NONE of the personalities Sid has shown so far is his real one. The only thing he really know about him is that he is very intelligent, he is totally self aware that he is on a show (ie he doesn't get lost in the house and is aware that cameras are around him), and he can take feedback well.

And this itself is what is bugging Asim. Sid's skill in playing the game is becoming clearer and clearer, and in Asim's eyes, playing the game = being 'fake' and the reason he connected with Sid in the first place is because he was real. When Sid, who himself insisted that Asim do not have fun and hangout with the other team members, is now flirting with Devo and joking around with Mahira - of course its frustrating! For this reason, I think Asim will be the fan favorite soon. After a few weeks, Sid's game will be clear to everyone (in and out of the house) and Asim will emerge as the real guy.

ONLY thing that will stop this natural process - Salman/channel insisting on Sid being portrayed as the hero. If focus on Sid is loosened up a little bit, I think the entire game can flip.

Hi super post. One of the best explanations I’ve read of the game and the real problem between Asim and Sid.

Asim should have watched a few reality shows before coming in. Would have helped him in his game. I think people love Asim for being totally unfiltered but somewhere you need to be diplomatic as you go along in the game. He’s really not a gamer and don’t know if it’s going to go for or against him.

Anyway so far Sid is the sure shot winner. He has a lot of angles working for him. Friends. Gang leader. Target. Aggression. Romance angle with Sana and fake romance with Devo. Friend turned Foe with Asim.

I don’t think BB will support Asim and I feel he will be painted in a more negative light, because it seems like the channel is in full support and has been since the start to make Sid win.

I for one generally like masterminds ( like Vikas in season 11) but somehow I can appreciate Sid and his game I just can’t seem to like him. I like Asim ( lack of game is a problem) but he’s so genuine, like he’s not even trying to hide his worst qualities like possessiveness and insecurity.

but right now I only see Sid as the winner, despite wanting Asim to win.

Thanks! Yup I agree completely, I see Sid winning for sure (unless the edit/Salman/channel bias is loosened up a little bit), but I really want Asim to win.

I also agree about Sid slowly becoming more and more unlikable, and I have a (kinda vague) theory on it. I think the more popular Sid becomes in the house, the more unpopular he can become with viewers because of the sharp contrast in who he was vs who he is. People in the house think of this differently because they have to live with the guy 24/7, so in their perspective, 'Siddharth sudhar raha hai,' which is a huge relief for them because whether we like him or not, it must be extremely frustrating to live with someone who does no work, lazes around all day telling people who he gets along with what to do, and gets aggressive enough to break things during tasks. For them, this is a big relief. For us, it highlights his hypocrisy. So, we might be having fun seeing his nautanki with Devo and Sana, but also kahin na kahin, it is also hitting us that this guy could have been like this all along and chose to be overly aggressive, dominating, lazy for over a month. There is no consistency. So I am totally in your side here - I am more and more appreciating Sid's skill at the game and intelligence, but he is becoming more and more unlikable for me. Asim might be naive, stubborn, possessive etc but these are all relatable things that we have all been in our lives, and the main point is he looks real - and that connects with us subconsciously.

Also, another example - Paras. I thought this guy was so unlikable in the beginning with his constant gossiping, guesswork of what is coming next (and announcing it to everyone like he knows everything), and lagaoing aag everywhere. These are still unlikable traits, but somewhere, I am slowly starting to respect him because of his consistency. Salman openly embarrasses him and he takes it like a sport, stick to his friend through thick and thin, gets along with everyone (unless they just don't talk to him), and keeps a light atmosphere around the house. If you remember, in the first week, all the girls were asked to say something about one male and Koena said this stuff about Paras. Kahin na kahin I do respect that none of these things have changed - banda consistent hai kyunki ho bas jo hai wohee dikharaha hai.

Yup I agree. The more Sid changes his behaviour and acts friendly the more shades he shows- it will come out looking like a game plan. I don’t have a problem with someone liking him for being the smartest player in the house, but he’s definitely not the most Real player anymore.

Asim is super real in the house, but see things depend on perspective. Sid is the chosen one and the narrative needs to make him look positive and thus anyone against him needs to be negative. I feel Asim is the only one that can sort of also get along with Rashmi and give the channel what they’ve wanted all along Rashmi vs Sid but with more firepower in Rashmi and slightly more positivity. Rashmi is gaining sympathy thesedays, people are calling her dumb and naive but again she’s being real. I for one think Rashmi and Asim against Shukla ( with Rashmi and Asim not being painted very negatively) will give for a good story.

Coming to your point about Paras, I agree. Guy is who he is. He’s been clear from day 1- game is his priority and only connection he has is Mahira and he’s stuck to the same. He’s generally quite chilled as a person and doesn’t take things too seriously. I’ve warmed up to him too.

Intact from sort of thinking Sid is super real and relatable, I don’t anymore. I apprecIate his intelligence and strategies but I don’t like him. On the other hand I didn’t like Rashmi and Paras at all, but I’ve warmed up to them.

Each and every word of your post is so correct! Someone said that they may show Asim in a negative light which actually can turn out to be true. They can show Shukla having fun and chilling with others but they don't usually show Asim doing the same thing, wheras in unseen he actually does have fun and chill with everyone, Since they dont show Asim chilling with others in normal episodes it will seem that he is the jealous/possesive one which is actually not true

Completely agree with your explanation.

People calling it Asim's possessiveness but it's Shukla's hypocrisy that's bothering Asim

Bang on post

Sid is undoubtedly leaving no stone undone to move forward like a hero in the game but in the process he is somewere loosing the essence of being real although all his new shades are entertaining and I think this will benefit him .. The last thing I want is showing asim in negative light thr boy has been genuine, trustworthy and relatable from the beginning.. He deserves applause for this

Let's see what's gonna happen
