+1 to all the Bold. Thanks for this post.

If you actually believe in equality, then being called a Homosexual, Transexual etc etc should not offend you. Because the moment you take offense to it, is when you have already made a distinction or discrimination in your mind.

When the secret revealing task happened, KV and Deepak's reaction to Romil's secret could be classified as Homophobia, because they were asking him to stay away or something on those lines.

What happened after Rohit's entry is not exactly homophobia to me. Yes I agree that, one's sexuality is that person's business and it is completely upto he or she as to what they have to do with it and it really isn't other people's business to speculate over someone's sexuality. But what can you do, we as a specie are a nosy and ignorant species as such. So whatever happened that night was ignorant for sure, but not exactly homophobia.

The day we stop using these terms as an offense or cuss word, and moreover stop taking offense over these terms, is probably the day we'll make some progress as humans. And for that we need education. People need to understand why saying certain things can be offensive, and not just because the majority says so.

If you make fun of someone who you perceive to be feminine you are infact mocking them therefore asserting that being such a person is a weakness. As for commenting on someone's sexuality, would you comment 'omg look at that guy he is straight!' so sexuality should not be a topic, they are not freaks in a museum. Its like saying omg I met a gay today, how idiotic is THAT! You wouldnt go to a straight person and ask them ' hey I heard you're straight? , is it true'. Such things have a long way to progress in India anyway.

Calling a girl a tomboy is not a big deal because historically such girls have not been mocked as much as men have in the reverse. You cannot compare making fun of someones clothes or looks ( which is wrong) to a community that has long been harassed especially in our country , get realll 😆

The reason why people are so politically correct and use the term homophobia is because for a long time gay people have been made fun of , bullied and even killed - there is a history there. For a similar reason why if anyone says something about an African American or an Asian there is hue and cry because there is a history of abuse and enslavement. If someone made fun of you as an Indian like 'oh she smells of curry haha' would you think that is fun or racist because to white people that might just be funny and not perceived as racism.

That's why the issue is escalated because if it isn't now then people will never change their behaviour which IMO is completely right.

Yes people have failed to understand Homophobia. I ahve witnessed this during last season and they still take a dig at us this year too for supporting a person whom as per their dictionary was a homophobic. I have been called hypocrite for calling out against KVB this year. I am not saying KVB or Shree is a homophobic. No. What they did was mocking. But yes I will bajaao them in every possible way for one similar mistake of theirs as my fav was bajaooed last time for teh very same reason.. It's just that I am returning the favour with interest.
I am Being quite straightforward here. I know I will be attacked but that's fine. I am atleast saying out openly.

I understand about mocking... I agree Sreesanth was mocking Rohit but how is it homophobic... get the difference mocking n being phobic are two completely different thing... if they would have said it in demeaning way I might have agreed with you but I don't think any of them looked down upon him or pointed at him n said you are gay or a bi...or whatever...

now thats one hell example of assumption
Unless someone really implies none can forcefully establish this is what one meant
However calling someone feminine is highest regarded as sexist comment and not a homosexual comment at all
Y calling a girl as tomboy is not have adverse effect? Cause of the hypocrisy of the society who thinks women r less
Hence a guy having feminine features r taboo
Anyway main thing is just because people have delusional judgemental thought process they cant fill in the blanks as they want and declare someone as homophobic or sexist
Its sounding like "i love cats"
Some judgmental saying "oh so u mean u hate dogs. So u r saying dogs shall be killed. "
Yeah it does sound as much absurd when we assume
Ppl have opinions but that does not give any person to accuse another being of homophobic just because one insignificant thing
If kv is homophobic because he said rohit is feminine
Then Surbhi saba somi and rest of the house does fall in the same catagory

Also wanted to add that,

It would do humanity a ton of favor if being compared to a girl is stopped being used as a form of insult or offense and also being offended by it.

Nothing wrong in having feminine or masculine features and traits. Just don't use it to insult someone or as something to be offensive about. Observation is fine, offense isn't. That's all.

Last year, someone had started this 'homophobhic' trend and everyone follows it. They tagged Shilpa as homophobhic when she actually was good friends with the only gay person, Sabyasachi.

The issue this year is on a far lower scale than what went on last season IMO - it's homophobic mocking when you're mocking someone for their sexuality, because of it - and it happened in spades last year: slang like gud, meetha were used, people were referred to as aadha mard because of their sexual orientation, lust was placed between two men - one of whom is straight, being bisexual was referred to as a kami/flaw and so on and so forth.

Comparatively, this season - while some of the jokes, making fun have homophobic undertones, they're not outright slurs. That said - it is in bad taste, and it is offensive, and none of their business.

And for the record, one can interact with/be friends with gay people and still be homophobic - take Luv last year - he was an admitted homophobe, and was friendly with Sabya. Shilpa, despite being friendly with Sabya, referred to him as less than a full mard due to sexuality.
