From my perspective (and maybe a few others perspective) - we hope Kamal and others in prominent roles - speak more pure tamil than what is happening in the media industry nowadays. The language of tamil is languishing already and we are hoping more people follow this on television shows. Proud and happy to hear pure tamil and the thirukkural/other quotes. Such quotes are not necessarily only for "pattimandram" or "ilakkiya shows", wish it is more in mainstream shows.
