I agree with you. Both OK & Armaan have deep similarities, they both share the same traits, the same characterstics. The only difference is that Omkaar is more aggressive in his expression, and Armaan is more of a calmer personality. But the most distinct similarity between them is that neither of them have a spine. Being aggresive and loud is not equivalent to being strong.
It is very difficult to break away from a dysfunctional system and lead your life in a different path, it requires alot of courage and strength. Today I noticed how deeply woven Omkaar is with his family. He simply cannot tolerate one member trying to break the ties from the family, and will do whatever he can in order to keep the family 'together', even if it means suffocating someone to death. He is insecure to an extent that he can excercise his control as a male if need be, to hold the ties together and pretend that they're 'one big happy family'.
As for Armaan, he did break away from his family in the past, and he deserves due respect for doing that, but what he is doing now has made me disrespect his character completely. What right does he have to push Bharti further into a family she doesn't want to be in ? What right does he have to say, 'Ab yehi tumhara parivaar hai Bharti', when he himself doesn't want his daughter and him to live in that house ? So basically, you do want to escape this system, but in order to do that, you must stomp over some other human being and shove her into the well. Kudos, Armaan.
You're right; He's not taking a firm stand. When you truly love someone, then the least you can do is stand up for them when they need you, and by not doing that, Armaan has proved that his love for Bharti is not real. How any human being can sit through the entire ordeal without saying anything is beyond me. He loves her when he wants to, and abandons her when he's fed up. How convinient. I know that he's baffled by Bharti's lies, but heck how does he know that Bharti is lying and his brother is not ? Simply because Omkaar is his brother ? Has he even made an effort to try and find out the truth ?
Bharti has accepted his flaws too. He has doubted her innumerable times in the past, but she has always trusted him, always turned to him for help, always genuinely cared for him. Which woman would put her own life at stake for a stranger's daughter, only to recieve more flak in the end ?
This is a huge let down, it's like a huge bubble being burst in your face. Walk out Armaan; but remember that you just screwed someone else's life.
