Blood & Glory
Following the incidents of Sin & Innocence the story takes a 3 year leap whereby Pratap and Ajabde prep themselves for their wedding after having cleared the tests set for them in the past 3 years. Both of them had matured and learned a lot from joy to sadness, sacrifice and loss to finally achieving everything from new friends and family, now was the time for celebration for the entire kingdom of Mewar as the crown prince would marry the love of his life but some sins of the past have not yet been absolved and with new enemies on sight, will they manage to survive and get a chance at being together or will fate play its hand and separate them forever
Prologue
For 3 years she had been living under the rocks like an ordinary commoner but not anymore the time had come for her to reveal herself and exact her revenge from those who cost her everything.
She lost everything because of that Samant daughter Ajabde and now she had the audacity to prepare for her future with Pratap as the future Queen of Mewar but that won't happen with her standing in the way
They all had underestimated her when they stopped looking for after the initial one year of absence Rana Uday Singh was a man whose faults would cost him a hefty price and she would be there to see it all
She was after all Bhatiyani the femme fatale who had led many to their graves before Uday Singh and now she would see him bury his own son, she would kill those two love birds if that was the last thing she did. They took her son away from her, her kingdom, her riches and jewels forced her to live like a common daasi but now she would come back with a bang and ruin all of them
Aapko yaad kiya jaa raha hai, sab besabr ho rahe hain aapki ek jhalak paane ke liye a man servant spoke up
Hmmm keh do sab se a rahe hain hum...ab waqt agaya chukka hai ki hum sabke saamne a jaye... with that she gave an evil smile
Chapter 1
Patta and Balwant were bored feeling restless as they waited for their Jija to finish her puja, they were on another one of her trips which Purohitji had ordered to undertake to keep the evils away and other stuff they could not understand
Balwant: How much more time will it take?
Patta: I have no idea Bhai...what do you suggest we should do?
Balwant: There is nothing to do here no one to even play a prank upon besides I'm too tired to do something
They both hear sounds of horses and turn vigilant at once,
Patta and Balwant together: Great Kunwar Pratap is here!!!
Kunwar Pratap and his brother Shakti both of them approach the younger boys and greet them to which Patta coolly inspects Pratap and ends up asking him,
How do you manage to end up in all the places we are?
Pratap gives him an amused smile and says It is just a mere coincidence
Balwant: How can it be coincidence Kunwar Pratap? Coincidence is running into each other once or twice you manage to end up at all the places we have been in the past 3 years...it is like you have been spying on us!!!
Shakti ends up laughing at the interrogation his brother was receiving but one glance from his elder brother and he tried controlling himself and added, well you see most of the places you have been lie on the borders where we are required to go and make regular checks especially since the foreign forces are moving towards the Rajputana
That sobered up the young fellows and Balwant said yes we know about that even Daata is making regular trips to Bijolia's borders and neighbouring areas as spies have brought back information of an Afghan army settling nearby but till now no solid proof has been seen
Pratap took the information in his head and decided to make a check on Bijolia's borders as well when they all heard the sound of temple bells ringing. Ajabde's puja had finished and he was about to surprise her yet again
Ajabde finished her prayers and took blessings from the priest present in the temple and then she took her Aarti thaal and proceeded to walk down the stairs near the place where her brothers were waiting for her. This was second last trip she needed to make before the Maha Puja in Bijolia that was being organised. Time had really flown by, she was grateful for the 3 years she got to spend with her family it was a short period of time but a happy one. She had learned horse riding, self-defence and increased her knowledge about healing but above all she had loved spending time with her brothers playing pranks and then saving them from her parent's ire especially her father who was more vocal about his love towards her.
She knew she had 5 minutes before her two brothers came running towards her to get the Prasad she brought with her as offerings. This time she had made special laddoos and no sooner had she reached the bottom stair both her brothers were standing there with huge smiles plastered on their faces with the eyes fixed on the laddoos
Ajabde smiled fed her brothers the laddoo by her hand as they had insisted upon since their first trip together and then she sensed his presence. He always kept his promises she thought and then took another laddoo and gave it to Shakti and then finally Pratap
Shakti knew his brother wanted to spend some time alone with his ladylove so he took both the young boys with him to the nearby village with promise of a good lunch and some mischief they all could get into, Pratap and Ajabde were left smiling at the antics of their siblings
Chapter 2
Pratap and Ajabde went to the meadow that was situated behind the temple it was a sunny day with cool breeze and clear blue skies. Ajabde had dipped her legs in the small pond and was enjoying the coolness of the water when Pratap broke the silence
Did you like your surprise? She looked at him and gave a smile and asked how did you know where I was going to be and then added on second thought don't tell me because if you are going to say spies and hidden soldiers than I rather be in the dark just like with Daata..
Pratap was amused at her question and self-answer tactic, he just grinned and held her hand she finally asked him how are you holding up? Do you still get those nightmares?
Sometimes and I'm doing fine Ajab it has been 2 years since that war and I have learnt to cope up with things that are not in my hands all I can do is focus on the things to come and be prepared for them
She nodded her head and told him about her final trip to the temple that was situated in the village she had taken refuge for 5 years. It will be nice to go back and see everyone again especially Vaidji and his family, I'll even introduce you to all the children there they would have all grown up...
That was one thing he loved about her she always read his moods and her talks uplifted them all the more. He could hear her speak of the most nonsensical things and just enjoy it for hours.
He gathered her close and loved hearing her gasp and slowly whispered in her ears, 3 years are about to end Ajab and then it will be our wedding soon, I hope you are ready and as he looked at her face he realised that pretty soon she would be his and only his forever and no one would ever come between them this little epiphany had desire coursing in him and he captured her lips in a passionate kiss and she gave into him, her hands automatically went around his neck and she hugged him tightly finally they broke apart due the lack of oxygen
Ajabde rested her head on his shoulder and entwined her hand with his , I have been having these strange dreams for the past week, all I see is that I on the battlefield and there is blood everywhere, I'm searching for you but one by one all I come across our bodies of our family members, friends and then you covered in blood and ... (She hugs him tightly as if the nightmare was true)
I'm right here Ajab and I'm not going anywhere besides you do know that I happen to be the best fighter in the entire Rajputana he teased her trying to make her smile which totally worked he gave her a kiss on the forehead and said, I promise you that I will always be with you Ajabde and will never leave your side no matter what the circumstances
They were lost in each other's eyes when they heard a flock of birds flying away from the village and Pratap stood up and gave his hand to help Ajabde, let's go to the village and rescue our siblings from whatever shenanigans they have managed to land themselves in this time
