TV actor Kushal Tandon, last seen participating in reality shows like Bigg Boss and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, was among the few actors being considered to play Maharana Pratap. The show, Bharat Ka Veer Putra " Maharana Pratap will go into fast forward mode in a few months, with the young prince growing up.
According to a source, Kushal, even if he had bagged the role eventually, would not have been able to do it because he is yet to recover from a shoulder injury for which he recently got operated. Said the source, "Kushal had a shoulder injury and he had to undergo a surgery some time back. Though recovering, he still has to train and exercise hard. A historical show would mean working under extreme hot conditions wearing heavy costumes, which Kushal cannot bear at the moment. Also, he is keen on doing movies right now."
Producer Abhimanyu Raj Singh confirmed that Kushal was approached for the show. He said, "It will be a big challenge for any actor to take on the mantle from the young actor, Faisal Khan. Kushal and a few others were approached for the role."
