A highly charged, nail-biting, emotional, tense and sensitive episode of MP tonight!👏
Udai Singh:
His sadness tonight and his drinking away in stress, while thinking of Shakti were a revelation of his emotional side as a father.
He knows he loves and prefers Shakti LESS. He is not apologetic about it. He has his set of clear favourites and non-favourites. But that does not mean he is not attached to his kids.
He has CAUGHT Shakti's pulse VERY WELL - in relation to Shakti's silence and accepting this punishment - though NOT wholly of Shakti as a personality. Shakti by his silence, wants to shame Udai Singh and plunge him also in guilt. I agreed with him when he said Shakti was being stubborn in not opening his mouth on the incident.
BUT THAT SAID - I wonder why was he wasting time on thinking and drinking!😲 Why didn't he utilise that time to investigate? If he himself did not want to investigate then why didn't he send his men?😕 The work that Pratap has done in last episode and tonight - that should have been done by Rana ji - taking witness account and looking for evidence!
Why did he not ask Shakti even a tad more gently to reveal the truth?😲
Also, how can anyone be given death sentence only on basis of accusations and talks from one side and NO words from the other side? What law is this?😲
I felt a lot for Udai Singh as he swallowed his grief and churned within himself. 😭 But I kept wishing he had spent his time trying to investigate instead of moping.😕
On Shakti:
It's a clash of egos really. And absolute lack of SANE communication between father and son.😕
His father's observations were not off the mark for him. Besides that he also wants to punish himself for his failings (losing contests, not being able to win father's love and not being able to fulfil his own vows). He wants to put his father in guilt by accepting this punishment. He wants to end his own frustrations and failures. And he hopes his mother will get respect and recognition at least as a part of his last wish if not by any other means.
(After all, he did say to Pratap what was the use of such a life and what was the use of living on favours all the time.😕)
Partly, he also wonders if his father would even accept his version of the incident or not.😔
It was nice to see that he touched his father's feet for the last time instead of standing in anger and defiance.😊
It was touching to see him express his last wish for his mother and to offer respect to Jaywanta bai and say all mothers are alike so it does not matter whose feet he gets to touch.😊 I wish he had also realised that all brothers are alike too.😕
On Jaywanta bai:
I had begun to feel she was self centered and bothered more about Pratap than others and their issues. But in tonight's episode she proved me wrong.
It was nice to see her approach Rana ji and gently tell him to ponder over his decision of punishing Shakti. She knows Rana ji has issues with her but still she left everything aside to talk to him once.
Her advice to him to at least postpone the decision and wait for some time to gather evidence was balanced and very valid.👍🏼
The way she calmed Sajja bai was heart-wrenching.😭
Her scene with Shakti was also wonderful.❤️ It is nice to know Shakti does not have any issues with her and he touched her feet, accepted the prasad she gave to him on Sajjabai's behalf.😊
She instantly rushed to calm little Vikram who had no idea of what was going on and was absolutely baffled by behaviour of his mother and absence of his Bhai Shakti.😭
She is truly the Maharani. 👍🏼
I am glad she managed to make Shakti open up a bit in the jail and that too in Rana ji's presence. 😊At least Rana ji learnt of Shakti's mindset a bit more. His son wants respect for his mother.😔 The boy is not only ill-behaved or rebel, he has other issues hounding him. I am happy Rana ji learnt a bit of his issues today.
On Sajjabai:
I was totally heartbroken for her tonight!💔😭 Poor helpless woman, unable to save her son and unable to deal with this clash of egos between father and son.
Still she is NOT bitter and hateful.👏 Unlike that Bhaatiyani who bitches around for NO reason!😡 Bhaatiyani should learn from Sajja bai!
The helpless mother kept praying incessantly, wept endlessly.
I was so shaken as a viewer when she said she only wanted to have Shakti as her son in every janam and she would wait for him forever, as her son.😭 Then she told Jaywanta bai that she would not be able to convey this to Shakti and requested her to tell all this from her side to her son and give him the prasad for last time.🥺
Poor woman is baffled and has lost all control...even over herself. It is like she has given up. But it is to her credit that she is not the least bitter towards Rana ji, Jaywanta bai, Pratap or her son Shakti.
It showed what a mother's heart was like.❤️ Beta chaahe kaisa bhi ho...lekin wohi beta chahiye har janam mein...mother's heart wants nothing else.😭
I like it that she is not begging to Rana ji but only begging to God now.😕
She should see how Jaywanta bai is helping her and crying for her while Bhaatiyani is largely keeping away. I hope she remembers this forever and never buys that woman's BS again in future.
I had a lump in my throat when Sajjabai woke up and felt a sensation on her feet as Shakti touched Jaywanta bai's feet!❤️ What a bond between mother and son!😭
I can't help but bring Bhaatiyani here!🤢 That woman keeps cursing her newborn for no reason and even put his life in danger for her own sinister plans!🤬 A true mother values her kids no matter what! She does not detest her child just because he did not become a king or did not serve as a channel for herself to elevate her stature! Look and learn you crazy woman!😡
My mother was crying during Sajjabai's scenes tonight.😭 Great work by the actress and superb work by the team in presenting these emotions!👏
I hope Sajjabai does not just shower love on Shakti when he is saved, but also tries to work on making him less bitter. It is not easy to handle a growing boy with a mind of his own. But Sajjabai ji has to be a little stronger.
On Pratap:
Pratap is trying his level best to save his brother!👏 I am happy to see him being more assertive in dealing with guards and servants as the Crown Prince and Bhavi Raja of Mewar!👍🏼
It is wonderful that he is aware of his status YET he does not use it for himself, but for others!👏 What a great human being!⭐️
He got tired in the journey but did not relent even once. What an undying perseverance he has!👏
His love for his family and his empathy are exceptional! ❤️ It was great that he realised not only his majli maa's pain but also his father's pain of losing his son. He did not make a villain of his father! He himself felt that his father must also not have been happy on making this decision! What an understanding! 👏
The way he called to Raawat ji's conscience not just as a courtier but also as a friend and gave example of his own relationship with his own best friend Som was an evidence of his wisdom and sensitivity!👏 The boy is adept in art of persuasion that too by fair means and not pressure or blackmail.😊
Som's death and his loss has made Pratap grow up overnight.😕 I guess no one can take Som's place in his life! But their bond exists in spirit so what if not in flesh.❤️
The precap was so nail biting man!😲 I hope Pratap is able to reach in time and save Shakti!
Closing comments:
The episode was gripping and emotionally charged. Every single scene was gripping! 👏It also offered a lot of insight into psyche of all characters!😊
Udai Singh and Shakti know their weaknesses but for some reason won't deal with their weaknesses nor will they let anyone else influence them and neither will they communicate directly or properly to those who they are attached to but have issues with.
Shakti needs to be wiser. But Udai Singh is older and it is more of his responsibility to be wiser and mend this broken bridge. He has to stop behaving like Rana ji with Shakti for once and just talk to him as a father. Be firm if need be. No need to be soft if you cannot be. But talk to him as a father and not just a king!
For Shakti, I only hope he is saved and after being saved he is not bitter. At least not towards Pratap. Stop taking anger of father's neglect on your brother!
BTW, is it just me or did the episode have more and longer breaks than usual?❓
