But he took advice from his cousin and first wife Ruqaiah Begum and Jehangir and Shah Jahan also were brought up under her guidance. Jehangir respected his mother a lot if you read Jehangir's autobiography in english but he took advice from Ruqaiah and speaks very fondly of his step mother.

One version is that Harka Bhai(yJodha's real name) or Mariam ul Zumani hated Akbar because he had defeated Rajputs andshe was forced in this marriage. Jehangir was lost between his parents conflicts and hence he was very close to his grand mom Hamida and step mom Ruqaiah and also Salima. In the book he also speaks very fondly of his three brothers andmentions manyof his sisters. All his brothers and sisters were either his half brothers or step brothers/sisters.There seems to be norivalry between Salim and his brothers for throne like in later generations.

If you visitTaj Mahal etcyou get to see potraits of him sitting and watching elephant races with his brothers etc.Jodha Bai is actuallyJehangir's first wife and mother of Shah Jahan. In the book you also find he is a naturalist and more interested in observing nature, anthrologist and animals etc.

Exactly!!!!!

It's the Truth

She very well suited in queen avtar, strong personality and voice. I dun like ekta kapoor jodha, her voice is low and dull and can't feel the strong matured attitude as well, i don't watch ekta version of ja its so fictional. Ja movie was far far better

yeh agree
movie was best even if its fictional but carved out in beautiful way 😃 not like kekta's way🤢

i dislike lady like jodha who slaughtered her self respect and embraced forced marriage, instead i feel if she would have done johur it would have been better. Jodha was not loved by akbar d way it is being showed in movies or show, she was just mother of akbar successor so was granted the title marium uz zamani, hence this title brought her all the powers, otherwise she even wouldn't have granted power to issue farman.

yes jodha's father was threatened and just for the sake of strengthening territory of akbar he married jodha on the cost of lives of her brothers, is it respectable? A woman accepting such marriage is acceptable? Forced marriage is no less than rape sry to say but even if i'm forced to marriage i'll never love that man ever

yes I think it doesnt matter what century you are in, forced marriage has always been looked down at... yes in this century and in the 20th century people have ended their lives rather than be disgraced and violated (ex: Partition)
Even Draupadi raised her voice against Karna because she didnt want to marry him eventhough he technically could have won the swayamvar; because in the real sense it is the girl who chooses her groom not the other way around! 👏

my comment was related about situation of a lady staying in that century. In 21st century we have every means to fight against injustice, but things were not like that at that time. Ok lets agree to not "ending lives for honour" according to you in that era, but was it justified to accept a man who married you for the sake of extending his kingdom, who married you for d sake of lives of ur brothers. Its easy to lodge a complain against such man today and it will be termed as torture. My point was had jodha really been respect worthy she wouldnt have stooped so low by accepting a man who married her on cost of something
