It's not that south was fortunate. To tell the truth, there are enough stories in Kerala about war and valour, its just that its not published so people don't know

For example read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Colachel and read this

There are many others covering Karnataka like Rani Chennamma and Rani Abakka Devi and Vijaynagar empire fighting the Bahmani Sultans. They are not popular that's it.

thanks thatnka for sharing

I know there were many brave heros in the south too

Raja Krishnadev rai is a legendary figure and all of us know about Tipu sultan

what i meant was that south was protected from afgaan invasions , i meant it in a positive way😊

I know you meant in a positive way😊. The south was attacked by Afghans, the reason why its not popular is because there was no big struggles happening. The Afghans won initially but the local populace recovered the territories back very quickly and then in some cases the Afghans never returned or they stayed as isolated kingdoms without troubling anybody.

Jaimal and Patta were extremely brave. When rajput opened the gate of fort and perform saka ,the battle became so fiercy that Akbar army fled for a moment from the battlefield though they were large in numbers but returned soon as in the mean time they got help from Man singh(King of Jaipur) and his army and they captured the fort killing Jaimal and Patta .
Before dying Jaimal and Patta cursed Mansingh that just like he had destroyed their family-his kingdom will have no males to become a king.Still all kings in jaipur are ADOPTED ones as whoever sits on jaipur throne will not have any male child
For those who are illusioned by the history books that Akbar was a good person will be surprised to know that after death of Jaimal and Patta, Akbar became very angry and frustrated even after win as he losses heavily in this battle in terms of money, force and time during this period of 4-5 months( when the fort was surrounded by his army and rajput often attack with gurilla war tactics) . To calm his anger he ordered his army to kill all the civilians.
About 25000 residents of Chittor were killed. Akbar was the very cruel and no less than Aurangzeb.
check this link:

yeah . u know :
Akbar had a curiosity to know the actual number of Hindus slain.
As it was impossible to manually count the heaps of dead bodies, Akbar
ordered his men to collect the sacred threads from the corpses. The
order was carried out the sacred threads collected were weighed, which was 74 mans." Now the weight of a sacred thread does not exceed 3 ounce each. Man or Maund is an old unit of weight, which is nearly equal to 37 Kg. So, by easy calculations, one can get
an idea how many Hindus were slain on that day.
3 ounce= 0.085 kg
7.5 maund= 2756.5 kg
2756.5 / 0.085= 32429.4
Hence nearly 32429 or more people died!

When victory of the enemy is certain that is the Rajput forces have less strength then the enemy , the women decide to do jauhar and men go to battle field and fight till they die. This is a type of suicide only as they go to battle knowing they will die as they cannot defeat the enemy . This mass suicide by the men folk is called saka

No at all. We were equally unfortunate. Malik Kafur -the eunuch general of the Ba🤬d Tughlaq, came all the way upto Madurai and ransacked plundered looted the famed Meenakshi Temple. Even the precious jewels of the Goddess were ripped apart and sent to Delhi.

There have been several other cases too, where the priests of temples escaped with the vigraha (statue) of the Gods / Goddesses at great peril to their own lives, so that the idols may not be defiled at the hands of the Muslim invaders. In many cases, the invaders killed the women and children who were left behind.

Unfortunately our history books gloss over such uncomfortable facts...
