CVs,
Why do I have this faint feeling that you yourself have no clue how to bring about having Guddu & Runjhun married? You guys started with a concept that Girl is good, on top of that she is Bhangonwali, but the boy is bad, bad as in Gunda-Mawali. Girl is tortured and Boy will come to her rescue.
But you seem to not able to get the 2 beings hitched! Okay okay .. the love-shove will happen after marriage .. but where is the marriage ... The show is heading towards "platinum" episode and still there is no hint of story of hero-heroine .. yeah there is a "hero story" and there is a "heroine story" .. but where is the joint story?! The way the show is going these days, the whole story of the hero could be easily wiped off and still there can be a story. I hope you understand what I am saying. The story of the Bhagonwali and her evil relatives have taken so much of precedence that the hero of the story can be totally wiped off and the show could be aired! After some folks made some noise that there was no hero in the episodes, then you bring him in just to show some scenes....

Now, don't be under pressure and do a hotch-potch job just bcos I wrote this. Take your time and develop the story. Because you seems to be going in circles with same story ideas, same dialogues and same scenes? What is the matter dearies ?

Also, all these days, though Guddu was mentioned as this Gunda character, he was never shown to do any illegal activitie. He ran his CD shop and the carrom club and did his business. The only way he could have been a Gunda to a viewer was because he wanted people to bow in front of him out of scared-ness. Now he seems to be doing all sorts of illegal activities - hafta vasooli, bashing up people, leaking exam paper ... So, to make Guddu deal with the Pandeys and pressure them to give him money, do you have to make him do illegal activities? Aren't you bringing/playing with his earlier characterization? By showing him doing all these illegal activities, I don't seem to have much respect for Guddu now compared to previously. Again, "bringing down" a character is the only way to write a story, guys? Why?

The reason I like this serial was the fable like story concept & the cast. It seems the actors are really well cast, the lead actress can deliver her lines well. Her ability to draw the viewer in & empathize with her plight, should be noted. However, as a viewer, I am getting bored seeing the cruelty of the relatives. In the story, after R stopped the mamamamis going on their jailyatra, atleast ONE uncle could have turned positive. I really wanted one of her uncles to be on her side. But the ashirwaad the mamis gave her in today's episode was just plain theatre of the absurd. I get the part that they are cruel, uncouth & heartless, but today, for me, that ashirwaad scene was just tooo much!!! I mean not one of the Uncles is reflecting on the illtreatment of Amma&Runjhun at their wives hands. That is a bit much for me to take. Otherwise, this series has alot of going for it especially the actors. Its refreshing to watch a series where both male/female lead can act &deliver their dialogues properly. Not just mouth the words & stand there like a statue.
The writers really need to come up with an interesting, innovative way for the G/R shaadi. SO far, I am not seeing the innovative path that will lead towards the gharjamai scenario.
As far as Guddu scenes go, what he has resorted to doing for money was also a bit off. After the beautiful scene with him&k/J talking about a mistake he made in the past etc. & to what he did-yeah, its not consistent with what was shown earlier. But as this is an indian serial on ZEE, I am not expecting a consistent way of characterisation, as long as its not Juvenile...but the mamis ashirwaad scene was just sooo juvenile.

@ bee5 & EcliPSe_2010~ No offense but I somewhat don't agree w/some of the stuff u brought up in your posts under this topic. I can see why u feel like the writers are goin' in circles (since Shashi is the 2nd guy) but it could be worse. The alliance between Runjhun & Shashi might help ignite the idea of Gunjhun's marriage😃. Runjhun's engagement to Abhi didn't do this & Runjhun ended up dumpin' him & I don't know if she'll do the same to Shashi. Let's hope there isn't a 3rd guy- Shashi better be the last straw. Guddu is in a low point in his life & in a different state right now. There are times in real life where people do go to a more edgy side. Honestly, I'm kinda lazy to go on explaining but I don't have any issues w/how he is bein' portrayed at present. In fact, we now know Guddu better than ever before due to the scenes with him & his parents. It's not like Guddu has been behavin' the way he has been behavin' lately for no good reason. The only reason as to why he's behaving this way is for his mom's treatment & his mom means the world to him. He wasn't collecting money like this before. It seemed like he was mainly earning money through his CD shop & carom club before & not really gettin' money through any other means. Since he wants to pay for his mom's treatment & he has to get quite a bit of cash & he doesn't have a whole lotta time left to do it, he's desperate. Keep in mind that there was an episdoe that took place before he touched Runjhun where either Kukkan or Jabbo mentioned how they were looting & in the flashback that was shown in today's episode, Guddu got arrested after the police found a gun in his bag. So we're seein' a different aspect of Guddu at present. Guddu used to seem quite content w/his life & a happy, entertaining guy but now, he is more on the depressed side & he's been a lot more serious. For me, what we've seen of Guddu so far on this show is realistic. If Guddu did somethin' like rape a girl or purposely murder someone- now these type of moves would for example be unrealistic but Guddu has not done such a thing. I would like to know why he was in possession of a gun in the first place in that flashback w/him & his dad.

I don't really feel like this serial has bad writing & overall it hasn't seriously dragged except w/the separation of Gunjhun- I'm surprised that the writers have kept us viewers waitin' for so long to actually see them in a scene together.

Yes I agree that we were seein' more of Guddu until after he left Kaanauj to visit his mom & it is a good idea to get on with this Gunjhun marriage track!!!!

You are right, Eclipse! Same sentiments here - the concept, the cast, characterization, dialogues everything was good and they started out with the story really well. Of late, it seems like they have no clue as to what they are doing. Looking at the repeat scenes it seems as if they have scrapped the old idea and doing the 2nd round of almost the same idea and hence those repeat sequences.

There is no doubt the actors who play mama-mamis are all good, but showing only their monkey business was too much for me too. Like I said, they were going on and on with the cruelty not knowing how to take the story to the next level.

I wish I knew the TRPs of this show.

I am really put off by how they have developed Guddu right now. Doing outright illegal things is not something I would appreciate even if it is done by the hero of the show. He was shown to be a guy who has basic ethics "in-place", which is not there anymore. They have butchered Guddu's character. Too bad.

Edabella,
No offense taken dear.
@underlined: "To each his own".
I am watching what is shown and not what is not shown and hence do not want to imagine/think/wonder/hope what is not shown. You are under no pressure to explain things to others. We are also watching the same show that you are watching and understand how it is exactly shown, unless you happen to be from the CVs 😉

I really don't care if it is 2nd, 3rd, 4th , 5th or nth guy. The point is, the story isn't going anywhere and is stuck. I have watched enough of Indian TV soaps and learned to understand and identify when a show has started to get stuck in a rut and when the CVs are behaving clueless.

This post is proof enough that I too like this show and care for it to continue and be on air longer than the less deserving. I have showered enough praises on this show and for the unawares, they just have to click on the 'Search' button under any of my post and 'Filter' on "Bhagonwali" in order to read it from the beginning.

When they have such good potential in terms of concept, cast and writers, they better use it and this post is to notify them well in advance to rectify what is wrong sooner than later.

Regarding Guddu's character, to me I think he hasn't completely changed. There was the time in the previous episode where he beat up someone up or rather had Kukkan and Jabbo beat him up This was when Runjhun was going to complain against Guddu and was scared to see Guddu beating up a man in front of the police station.

This is my take on Guddu. Simply put he is a common thug, and I might sound repetitive, yes he has principles but when it comes down to it he's not against doing illegal things. Now what kind of things he would do and not do are different, and yes there is a slight change to Guddu's character but not entirely. I don't think they've completely pushed Guddu over the edge.

What I like about Guddu's character is that he doesn't lie to himself about who he is. He knows he's not a sterling character. He wasn't for stealing the paper especially when he knew it was from his father's house. He did try to come up with a non-violent way of raising money till the Pandeys squashed his idea. He doesn't make excuses that he's helpless. He knows when he is wrong and admits to it, even if it isn't to others, to himself. He knows that he's committing a crime when he's stealing those papers but to him committing the crime hurts no one and helps with his mom's operation. In a way it also gives him a way to spite his father. His fathers strict principles have got nothing for his father, which is why he doesn't care too much about being good.

Guddu once told Runjhun that he would never take help from even his own father so why would he take her favor, when she goes to take her complaint back. Being falsely accused seemed to really hit a sore spot for him, and in lieu of his father turning against him, it makes sense.

Guddu has become more impatient in his demeanor, and a little more impulsive but his character hasn't been completely trashed. Having said that, if they continue they might bring his character completely down, which I don't want to see happen. There are still occasional battles with his conscience, I believe so they haven't force shoved him to the dark side.

Coming to the whole revenge on Runjhun, it seems like we've rewinded and hit play again. I think it would be a little low for Guddu to get married to Runjhun for revenge or even for money. Also Guddu trying to break Runjhun's marriage again would be very repetitive again. This doesn't mean ti won't happen though I don't think he will retaliate towards Runjhun like he did before because he's already done the worst according to himself. To me his threat sounded more like and empty angry threat. Though I think in attempting to release Diamond and sensing Guddu's animosity against Runjhun the desperate relatives might just hatch a desperate plan. Desperate minds don't often seek logic, so who knows. I myself have given up logic in some sense in trying to contemplate, when, why or how what happens...it seems almost pointless...I'm just interested in seeing more Guddu Runjhun interactions...because they set each other off unintentionally all the time...LOL

Wafah,

Agree to everything said about Guddu's past. But right now, I do see a change in Guddu's character.

I am no where stating that he is pushed out of the limits.

The change that I see is just the beginning and I wish it is the end too. Willing to wait and watch and make sure the downgrading of Guddu's character is not continuous affair. Till then I rest and will strike back if I see it otherwise.

@wafah
thnxs for putting into perspective Guddu's character. I like his character for the simple fact that its based on reality, he is such a contrast in characterization to the caricatured mamamamis. He takes life in stride, atleast thats what I am getting from his character. & I love the fact that he is learning from his life(the past mistake dialogue with K/J). He is also very aware of people's nature-Vishnu Pandey, Daroga. & he is capable of love, unlike the heartless Pandeys (the illtreatment they are giving their own mother&Runjhun). Guddu atleast has some insaniyat in him. I loved his scene at the temple: his desperation in wanting to help his mother&his frustration in being so helpless-all portrayed in a very real fashion. Its all very real. This week seems to be so different than the torture weeks prior. It almost seems like its a different serial....LOL..

@edabella
no offense taken dear. Its actually members like you that help me come back to the reason why I am watching this series. I really want to try to atleast watch one indian serial where I like both the female&the male leads! To me this series so far has what I am looking for: the charismatic pairing where both the leads can act, a splendid cast, & the of course the fable like concept. I just was not able to take too much of the torture scenarios-can't bear to watch Amma/R being so illtreated for I love both Amma&R.
Its all Good, no worries👍🏼
