Beyhadd is the only show I look forward to watch on Indian television right now,
or rather the only indian television show I watch ( apart from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Take 2 of course, but then again its a web series so it doesn't really count)
And why I look forward to it you ask?
honestly at first it was the strong, independent business woman that Maya was initially or the intellectual lawyer that Sanjh was in the 1st season!!
As the season progressed and transitioned the plot thickened and they finally delved into the "Beyhadd-ness" of the show!!
The junoon, the " har hadd ko paar " karne waala Beyhadd ishq came fore of not only Maya but also her male alter ego Samay and of course the easily manipulated Arjun and the once intellectual now dumb and rather confused Saanjh , what intrigues me is not the usual cat and mouse games or saas bahu saajish but the way Maya's strategic mind works.
I know there are a lot of people here who love defending Maya and keep hoping for her redemption, not me, because what drew me to it in the 1st place was the "Anti-Hero" aspect of the protagonist.
The fact that this show makes you question the whole dynamics of black, white and the grey matter,
when the conflict between right and wrong, gets blurred a "Maya" is born!!
Yes I support Maya, no I am not here to justify her deeds nor am I here with a moral compass weighing everyone's deeds I am just here to walk into this dark road that Maya and the beyhadd team take us in, trying hard to break the norms and finally going out of the box
If you are here to see a mahaan female protagonist sacrificing herself for a greater good , well almost every Indian Television out there is awaiting you,
If you are here for doomed love triagles well every other show gives you that.
But once in a while, the unthinkable happens, wherein an intellectual psychopath and sociopaths invades your mind,and you are left marveling at their mindset.
Yes you hate them with all your heart and thats when you realize the brilliance of it all, they are so convincing, so cunning that you can't help but stop for a while and re-evaluate on everything you believed in, they shake your inner core,
They are Joker, they are Bane, they are King Pin,
They are people who force you to come out of your comfort zone and explore new waters
and I am completely loving the Indian female version of such characters,
what is her ultimate fate? who knows ?
does she get away with everything?
or does she pay for her sins?
no matter what the consequence I am ready to dive in and see what shore does this journey lead to
love,
