Maya is fed up. Running from dark room to dark room. I loved the symbolism of those marriage things coming in a beautiful package and she burning it. In a way it is true. Marriage is a beautiful dream with all the paraphelia and colors, but then mostly it is a direct ticket to burning in fire for most women in our society.

A Vandana will be justified for all her karnama. If the bahu retaliates then only she is bad. I am not talking about Maya's extreme ways, but in general a woman is supposed to tolerate the rubbish her husband's family put on her, even her mild reaction taken as bad telling these things are normal.

With respect to your latest comment, I am saying something out of context of Beyhadh but in the context of a particular married woman who is expected to get rid of her identity and obey the whims and fancies of her in-laws and husband. In such a case if things go to the extreme and she can no longer bear it she needs to burn down her marriage and move on. That's why a woman whether married or unmarried needs to be financially independent and has to stand on her own two feet. It should be purely upto her whether she wishes to get married or not. A woman/s career/financial independence is more important than her marriage.

@Fragrance a woman should have her identity. That's why this year in our women's day celebration in my office as a panel member I told we should get rid of thinking in roles and stop seeing the world through a man's eyes. We have to see it through our eyes and we have to make decision as women as individuals not as daughter, wife or mother. Anything we do, we have to do it because we want it. Not because the society dictates a woman should behave that way. Yes marriage is a choice and not the ultimate necessity for a woman.

And there is no need for a woman to be in a marriage at the cost of her self respect. Daughters have to be educated and should be made financially independent so that they can decide on whether they want to marry or stay single.
