more experienced lawyer?
I felt that Saanjh was overwhelmed emotionally and made huge goof ups about key points.

E.g. she was right to point out that there was no evidence about who broke the cameras, but foolishly added that the rape didn't happen, so it didn't matter.
Also, she could have argued that Ayan's DNA could have been found in Maya's wounds due to a tussle, not necessarily a rape attempt, but she failed to bring that up.

Lawyers often twist words when cross-examining witnesses, but Saanjh did not question Samay at all.

Even in the CCTV footage, you could kind of see Ayan putting one foot on the ground, which Saanjh could have argued that he was trying to stand, etc, but she remained quiet.

Agreed

sanjh could have pointed out who called the police?

she could have counter stated that if there is no proof maya didnt break the cams, what proof is there that ayan broke those?

she could have made arjun reveal everything about maya's behavior as he was under oath (though he was lying, its easy to figure out when he's lying and when he's not i.e based on body language and hesitation)

she could have claimed ayan should be punished for physical assault instead of rape...as visible in the cam...that would have been righteous of her...admitting ayan was wrong in his behavior even if he did not rape

instead of being a cocky and loud mouth lawyer...she should have been a smart sharp lawyer

so yes...ayan had better chances if he approached another better more experienced lawyer

I completely agree with you.
I can never argue that saanjh is a very able lawyer at present. She needs much much much more experience of handling cases.
And even though she's able, in this case she failed because she was emotionally overwhelmed. Very very very correctly said. Specially when he saw Samay standing up against her, she completely broke down. Lawyers don't cry losing cases do they. Saanjh did because she was fighting for a chuddy buddy more than a client.
Even ayaan's face wasn't visible in the particular clip. An able lawyer could have even twisted that point too.
We have seen the cctv recordings get recorded in Maya's phone. Who deleted them? Ayaan? She could have asked for Maya's phone. ( very common sense thing I am talking though I don't know much law)

Anyways saanjh took the case much more personally I agree.

Sanj could say ...
how does ayan know where other cameras located?

he didn't visit arjun all those years, the only person who can know where cameras located is maya herself.

but sanj was busy telling all maya is mad so what ayan did was ok

ayan was wrong and maya is not saint but with sanj's shouts she made maya be the victim ... so sanj .. its your fault

Obviously. Any intelligent lawyer would have sat with Samay and would have first put him on the witness stand if the goal was justice for Ayan. Lawyer would have prepared how to put forth each aspect of Samay's testimony for their client's advantage. Samay the eye witness on the stand put forth by defense lawyer gives the moral high ground. But when the eye witness had to be summoned Saanjh lost the moral high ground completely.
Problem was Saanjh's purpose was not justice for Ayan, her purpose was defeat Maya

An experienced lawyer wud have definitely been able to buy some more TIME is what I am sure about and may be in that time he/ she wud have investigated more to get some good hold over the case..

However I do feel that this case is tough, very tough.. Ayaan will not easily be acquitted even after the case is reopened.. How in the world wud anyone be able to prove that the INTENTIONS were not wrong after what Ayaan had done on that day..😕 Maya has played her "woman's card" so well .. Will any court will give the verdict just purely based on intentions ?? 😕The general notion that a woman is mostly the tortured one is also on Maya's side.. The judge's last emotional speech also was a proof of it.. 😆

Sanjh will have prove that DNA reports, CCTV footage have been tampered... Only then will Maya's INTENTIONS will also come under scrutiny... Until then I see no good hope...

I'm not sure if another lawyer would have won the case for Ayaan because the case itself wasn't as straightforward. The only way Ayaan could have been proved innocent was if Maya could be proved to have falsely accused Ayaan. And there is no concrete proof of Maya's guilt. Points like Maya tampering with the CCTV, etc still won't prove Ayaan is innocent of the attempt to rape unless it was possible to get hold of the missing footage.

Some other lawyer may not even consider that Maya might have framed Ayaan. It was because Saanjh is aware of Maya's nature, she could see the case from that angle. Having said that Saanjh was clearly unprepared and not competent enough to handle something as tricky as this. I guess she didn't really have much time to investigate as well... the case hearing happened a day after the crime and the whole thing got concluded in one hearing itself. Plus, after Maya's act of showing the wounds and her emotional speech, Saanjh seemed to have lost all confidence and faltered completely.

No one can argue with the fact that Saanjh was incompetent in this case because from the start she was more keen in getting "revenge" for Sharma's family because Maya kept them away from Arjun more than actually proving that Ayaan didn't rape Maya. During the whole court episode, all I could see her do was questioning and degrading Maya's character, that's it. A lawyer doesn't only state facts or throw venom on their opposite side but actually try as much possible to strengthen their facts which Saanjh didn't ! But she was worthier than Maya's lawyer tbh. His presence was useless with exception of few "OBJECTION !" he uttered smh. Maya defended her own case and SHE ACTUALLY HAD THEM PROOF !!! The moment she undressed herself to show the scars, bites and bruises, Saanjh was over ! She intervened again to worsen her case "She did them on her own !" Certainly, but where are the proof -.- ? A lawyer must fight a case objectively no matter how much it means or affects her emotionally. Anyways, Ayaan's lost and that's what he clearly deserved ! Rape not rape, ripping off a woman's cloth, laying over her body and biting her neck, pulling her hair is an utmost disrespectful conduct that merits a severe sanction ! And Saanjh as a lawyer didn't rebound on it for a second or even scold him for his behaviour after he told her that ! I was highly pissed off ! She was very quick at turning that page. From the start, she was his ally, whether right or wrong, she's already made up that Ayaan's innocent. Biased judgemental !!!!
