I believe Arjun is not really in love with Maya... my gut feeling is that he actually loves Saanjh, but has always looked at her his buddy and not his woman... as Maya had planned and predicted (by flashing her money), he got carried away by her affluence, power, and obsessive love... things he had never experienced...
if he marries Maya, then he will repent as his mother fears... if he does not, then Maya will do everything to bring him to his knees 😊
another feeling is that there may be a scene where both Saanjh and Maya roll over a cliff top, and Arjun dives to save them... while he hangs on to both, Saanjh begins to slip... Arjun realizes that he can save only one... so lets go off Maya and pulls Saanjh up... thus breaking his 4th promise that he will never let go off her hand 😊
