Great post. It's a reminder to all the people around here of what actually beyhadh is all about. It's a story of obsession and not love. Every character looks obsessed, be it Maya , Saanjh or Arjun. I'm a fan of none of the character or actor. My priority would be to see how these characters traverse themselves through the journey of live and how other characters react.
Excellent analysis of each character.

Finally a post I was so eagerly waiting for. Thank you!
I was never into love stories in first place - beyhadh is a unique concept, a psychological thriller - which is why I got hooked to this show.

Posts about how X and Y are cute together, are made for each other, etc. annoyed me.

I am interested in the story in its totality and not just two characters living happily ever after. I am as interested in learning Maya's fate as I am in Mr. Prem's. All the characters are interesting.

Hi All,
I made this post and disappeared. I have had a very busy day and finally got a minute and read all the great responses. I am happy many here accept that this story is a psychological thriller and not your run of the mill love story.

I think the fault of viewers getting on the "couple shipping" bandwagon, is the Indian show makers. They have conditioned people into thinking all stories are love stories and even when the story is not just a love story, but maybe a family drama, story of friendships, sibling story, historical drama or in the case of Beyhadh, a thriller, people still get on the couple train.Indian show makers are selling romance to people wholesale and they have got so used to it, they are not even paying attention to the content or the context of the story sometimes.

In the case of Beyhadh, it's a study of obsessive love and excessive control. Neither of which can sustain a long term relationship. Whatever that relationship may be. (Doesn't have to be just a romance). In this case it is a romance between Arjun and Maya. A doomed romance because Maya is such that her issues will overshadow her good intentions. I am a Maya fan. This show is mostly reverting to me because of her. But I SEE her faults. I cannot be blind to them. Same applies for Arjun and Saanjh. I like them too, but can see where they are wrong and weak.

Maya is undoubtedly the pull factor on this show. I think the makers have made it clear from the start this was never a romance in itself. It is a romantic thriller. A psychological drama. It can never just be about who ends up with whom. It is not that simple. In most shows where they show some arrogant guy and sweet girl, the story should end with the girl dumping him. But it always ends with her love saving him. Total cliche. I guess even here we are expecting that. But if the show makers are being real, they will have to show us something more realistic than that. THAT is what I am hoping for. Even if Arjun and Maya end up together, it has to be because Maya has finally overcome her past. Not because Arjun is trapped, or Arjun saves Maya from herself. Saanjh should not end up with Arjun. That would defeat the purpose and I dont want Saanjh to be Arjun's consolation price.

Yeah I have been quite busy lately and not been on the forums for a week or so. I came into Beyhadh forum and made this post coz after last week's episodes I really wanted to discuss the direction of the show.

As for "forum that shall not be named" LOL, I am not watching that show these days, so don't see the point of being there. I also don't enjoy the negativity. I would rather have an intelligent debate and not indulging in senseless banter. Just a waste of time.

So there will be another forum? I guess new show new forum right? I will probably check out that show. Hope it is interesting.

@Darcy I loved the usage for Saanjh consolation prize. Why should such a talented girl someone's consolation prize. Wont she get a man who appreciates and adores her for what she is. Why it has to be always the bubbly girl saves the guy and then ends up with him.

Hi Mandy!
Remember who this is?😉 Anyways, coming to Beyhadh. First of all, such an awesome post.👏 Maya, is such a complex character. Her actions are wrong, but then her past is causing her to do this.

I guess all the three of these characters are going to learn a lesson at the end. That is how I see it. This is a chapter in Arjun and Saanjh's life, but to Maya, it is her life. Now, that Maya is out of control in her love for Arjun, she is not going to see what's right or what's wrong. She will play the best game ever, but her energies will be diverted in the wrong direction. Arjun will love her truly, but the amount of passion that he holds in life, he will be lost in her love.He will not know what direction he is moving in, he will be literally lost. And Saanjh will come to make him realize, before which she has to realize her self worth.

She will be the dusk in their life. Maya proposed him in the air, while he in underwater. She will be the one to make these ends meet, as I see it from the symbolism, but personally I believe their should be any of Arya end game or Saajun end game.

He loves to be immersed in colors, she loves playing with those colors. What is to be happen, will be a ride of the most intense emotions only to realize later that despite how much you love the intensity, there is always a line between passion and obsession, which will decide everything.

Same. I am here for the thriller too. I like Maya's overall character presentation. They have done a good job with getting people to empathize with a gray character who has probably black shades too.

Saanjh's character disappointed me with her Arjun obsession. But overall I like her. I think her family are really good people. Yes Mom especially was misguided about Arjun. But since they found out about ARYA, they have done their best to try and get Saanjh to move on. But Saanjh is still on her mission to be there for Arjun, when in actual fact she should have cut her losses and gone to Singapore. She really needs to focus on herself.

But she is a good friend and she thinks she is saving her friend. She doesn't realize how badly she and Arjun are both being manipulated. I would love to know what is written in Maya's Kundali? That Mauritius Pandit Ji knew without even reading her horoscope what was going on. ALL indications are something is very seriously wrong and I am now just dying of curiosity. I need to know. What has Maya done and what is in her horoscope? Tell us already! 😡

yes saanjh should get away from that arjun..he looks like a jerk to me...he didn't even felt for a second for saanjh, how Mich her heart would have been broken ..for God knows she was in love with this guy, to be frank she was living her life with arjuns love...it will be very difficult to move on in such situations, but since this is a show and people are for Maya here she looks annoying and some feel she is given a biger screen apace

Hey girl! Yes I remember. Our old Sahil gang! KV AT! I haven't been there in more than 6 months.
Great you are watching Beyhadh! Thanks for your great comment, and yes even I am loving the complexities of Maya, Arjun and Saanjh. Their interwoven realities.

What I like about this show is that it's intelligent and does not insult our intelligence. You dont have to check your brain at the door to watch it, which is a nice feeling! I hope to run into you more on the Beyhadh forum! Yes anyone can be end game, but I hope whatever it is, it feels real and not contrived!

Once again great to hear from you Laura!

Me, too! And I'm not watching Naagin too, it just doesn't seem my cup of tea. I love that too, it's the way real life works and not some fantasy world. Rather than making any kind of predictions, I feel it nice to sit back and watch the drama unfold.

P.S- I'm not Laura.
