As for referring such a person to a psychiatrist, a better approach is to first observe the signs, be sure of them, approach the person first to talk about it in a subtle and sensible manner, refer them to counsellor and if the counsellor deems it necessary, only then check with a psychologist/psychiatrist. Some people just naturally a bit possessive and protective. The issue and the severity of it is what counts.

Yes of course, that goes without saying...I meant if they're behaviour is like maya's. And yes I did get what she was saying...I wasn't contradicting...i put up an alternate theory which I felt was possible. And there definitely was an extreme need for what she did...with her dad being abusive n all...I meant that only. But the extent that maya goes to to achieve what she w ants or to feel secure is not normal, that was my point

Yeah I agree. But a psychiatrist is a doctor only. He/she will only help the person. I understand the stigma but the earlier ppl understand that there is something wrong, the better it is. By wrong I meant any person with maya's character traits-willingly hurting oneself or others just to prove their point or to get what they want. I understand I should've said counsellor first n then a psychi. Apologise for that. Anyway lets not waver from the topic of discussion. Goodnight!

@ani you have summed up all the points well. I am typing from mobile these days as there is issue with my wireless and cannot put long winding post.

There were many things I wanted to cover yesterday apart from mental illness. Miscarriage is one thing, but what about boy preference or a female foeticide. Did Maya do it or Ashwin made her believe she did it.

I mean Maya is a child and you can play with a child's emotions to make the child think he or she did it. Has Ashwin purposefully made Maya like that so that he get all of Jhanvi's wealth which the girl would have been guarding.

I am loving the show very much. Saanjh is going to connect past and present. That I am sure.

It look like modern Manichitrathazhu or rather Bhool Bhulaiyya. Only difference I think here it is not going to be alter ego as Maya is aware of black deeds.

Saanjh is the role of Akshaykumar or rather Mohanlal. A psychiatrist there, a lawyer here. The quiet, quirky, intelligent character that turns the table in his own way for his friend and his wife. Saanjh will do the same here. The intellectual is what Maya calls her. Yes she is intelligent and Maya will know the need of that intelligence.

Beyhadh has the beauty of the original script by Madhu Muttom with electrifying performance by Jenny as Maya and subtle yet a beautiful performance by Aneri. And more than Arjun it is going to be these 2 ladies as it was in the movie also.

Manichitrathazhu belonged to Shobhana and Mohanlal, Bhool Bulaiyya to Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar. Malayalam original Shobhana walked away with the national award and it was one of career best performance for Mohanlal.

I am going to post the same thing that I've posted in the other post.

There is more to the story...the past is messed up and tangled

1) Her 9th b'day..which is crucial stage in her life

2)Maya must have done something bad to ashwin that's why ashwin has said jitni safed kapde tum pehenti ho utni hi kaali ho tum andar se ( something like that I don't remember the whole dialogue)

It can have 2 explanation that Maya was already a mentally disturbed and psychotic child but lack of empathy and tolerance and the fact that ashwin is not a good human being aka father resulted into a domestic violence and infamous 9th bday of Maya that adds fuel in the condition of Maya...or Ashwin was always a bad father and husband ..keeps on abusing his wife and daughter that made Maya the way she is now follows by taking revenge from her father in horrible way.

Maya has definately done something in childhood.I don't think ashwin manipulated her to believe she is criminal or bad person because Maya does show up certain traits which are scary.Maya never likes to share her love ..

It is possible that Maya killed her sibling in childhood and also tried to kill ashwin.Till now there is no other haunting memory other then her ninth birthday ...

There was a character called ahil whose mother made him believe that he killed his father ...but he was innocent and he never showed up traits of abnormal behaviour.Never played with knives.

Certain elements are hereditary.Ashwin doesn't seem to mentally healthy guy .Maya seemed to have inherited it from ashwin.And when Maya tried to kill him ...the only way he could control was instilling fear in her...then he found that gold digger who manipulated him to trouble jhanvi and Maya and blackmail and derive money from them ...

There was an interesting comment which I read on YT..it might be possible whom we are thinking and hating as villian is not a villian only 😆 something on these lines...

That is for sure arjun is soon going to be deep into maya jaal

And regarding ayaan and saanjh i feel that track can also be soon covered by the CVs

Cause Saanjh and Arjun is too mainstream for me

Yes, we have already discussed that in my previous posts and posts by Shruthi and other members. Right now, we need more of the flashbacks in order to assess Maya's past.

Yeah, a lot of it can be hereditary too. What we don't know as of now is if Maya has done something awful knowingly or if she's made to believe she's done something awful but she actually hasn't in reality. Unless we don't get some more of the flashbacks or anything else that reveals her past, we'll keep running around in circles. 😆

I don't think Maya will carry a knife and handcuffs in the actual episode. It could have been just for the promo and for the audiences to break their heads over it coming up with multiple theories thus keeping the curiosity alive. We all know how Arjun is going to reject her proposal and she's going to attempt suicide.
