May be Maya's mom ex husband left them then she got married to other one which we show today ,becoz she was waiting for her husband yesterday desperately but today there was no such feeling
May be this present husband has some connection with arjun's mom or may be ex husband has some connection

By connection do you mean like a relationship, if its that then Maya and Arjun would be step siblings. But then there could be another connection but its hard to determine its type. May be they were college friends or something.

I hope not. I want the story to be driven by these three characters and their own pasts and present situations and future possibilities. Any extra meddling with the supporting characters, in terms of unnecessary connections between them, will only take away from the core story in this particular show imo.
