I think I mentioned this in a thread a few weeks ago. Sony is in the TRP game. They will slash shows that either aren't bringing in the required TRP or are falling in TRPs, even if for a few weeks. (I think it was TRP thread possibly.)

Anyways, it's exactly what's happening here. Even at it's low 0.6-0.7, IIM is stable. Hence it was extended. The show is doing fine in terms of TRP, it has some good buzz online, and, like you said, it's a cheaper show.

Beyhadh 2, on the other hand, was probably supposed to be a front runner for Sony. The measly 0.5 TRP, which is the lowest across all Sony shows isn't going to cut it for them, even if it's stable. They are being kind enough to offer digital and give a 2 week notice. Sony has slashed shows before with literally no notice.

I don't know if Jen will agree or not, but in either case, Sony will take Beyhadh 2 off air. They are just giving the makers a lifeline to finish the show properly by going digital. Else the makers will need to scramble and finish everything in 2 weeks, which means be ready for major butchering.

Not sure if Jenny will agree dear coz she refused for BP. Also moving online is going for a slash in pay check which I am sure the actors won’t be thrilled about bcoz the revenue made on net is lesser than what TV earns.

I know Jen won't agree and hence this digital thing is just a platform to complete airing the remaining episodes which aren't going to be many imo. Right now they are shooting double shift. Rajat is back too for fb scenes so the rishi reveal and maya past reveal would happen soon.

not comparison but B2 not upto the level of B1 (eventhough b1 have so many loophole,flaw still jenny portrayed as Maya dream role to many actress ) being a one of the hardcore jenny fan i dont find any uniqueness in B2.

call me conservative but this is my POV, we are okay with bold concept but not comfortable with MJ-Maya-Rudra triangle ,that too once maya was pregnant with MJ child (that child is a brother or sister to rudra) now she romancing towards her ex-boyfriend son ,sorry i m not convinced here B1 Maya obsession justified due her mental illness and ill treat childhood by her father, b2 obsession are seems to me forced one (and this is big let down in household TRP i mean the concept itself but all actors doing their job well )

You took the words out my mouth. The entire Maya - rudra - MJ triangle is so cringe. Just imagine had Maya not lost the baby, he/she would have become Rudra’s half brother or sister🤪

I actually felt more sympathetic towards BH1 Maya because although she did many crimes, deep down she was suffering from a mental illness which the cvs didn’t delve into at all. The obsession in BH 2 does seem a bit forced.

We have to remember that although Sony audience is more urban based, the primary audience are still the housewives. Online viewers are just a tiny fraction.

I remember Harshad saying in one of the interviews about why old concept and typical shows actually run even today because they have their own viewership, the set of audiences who want to see the saas bahu sagas still constitute a good number.

No matter how good and bold conceptual shows like B2 come up, its the TRPs and the numbers that matter. People couldn't accept a concept like this.

There are people who want and appreciate new content but probably we are a small number as of now. Pulling B2 speaks alot about the current situation of the TV industry and audience. Not ready for such shows yet.

Being Ashish fan,I was excited to watch him in negative character for the first time.I hate MJ to the core but it's made me to appreciate Ashish acting more.It will be disappointing if they mess up the script to end it fàst because online shows are generally come up with limited numbers.Don't know when will he take up his next assignment.Still wait and will watch the show till the end.
