Is Rudra Roy the 'Bahurani' of this show?

Who says that Beyhadh 2.0 is not a saas-bahu saga?

Rudra is the official Bahurani of the show and almost everyone in the show is his 'saasumaa'. Like bro, seriously, everyone keeps threatening him ( MJ, Maya, Ananya ), hurting him ( Maya, Antara, Rishi, MJ), taunting him ( Maya, Ananya, Rishi, MJ , Cute Kinnar).... Matlab, Ekta ki bahu jaisa haal hai iss aadmi ka. Somehow , everything comes crashing down on him only. Whether he is guilty or not, Rudra ko pakdo aur do chaar punch maaro. On top of that, Rudra also behaves like that teary-eyed, soft spoken bahurani who can only seethe in rage , weep in heartbreak, get 'ilzaamofied' but do nothing! I am sorry but I had to say this. 🤔🤣

Anyway, there is nothing to analyze for me in this episode as we have awesome awesome writers who write a terrific analysis of the show everyday, but I just want to make two points:

  • For me, in those 5-10 minutes, there was NO difference between MJ and Maya when she drove Rishi to that edge in a calculative, pretentious and menacing manner. When we obsessively love/hate someone , we imbibe that person in many ways, without even realizing it. I am not sure if writers thought it that way , but it seems like Maya has imbibed the shadow side of MJ.
  • Rudra is the only hope Maya had - of pulling her out of darkness and soul-immolation , of giving her the 'therapy' that her deep wounded insides needed. Rudra , in a way, was that beacon of light and he even came to her door for that last try. But Maya sent him packing- she sent her second chance at life packing- by her own chosen will . Her face cracked, her heart broke , she chose abandonment as she let Rudra walk away. It seemed like a child watching her fairylight float away and choosing to stay in darkness. It was a very intense and emotionally charged scene and the actors were so real in that. Good job.

P.S - I don't comment on the thriller part of the story, because it is absolute nonsense. It seems like two different sets of writers are writing the show. One set writes Rudra and Maya , the other fills in the thriller part that is a snoozefest! The whole thriller track is flying over my head. 🤔

Thanks for reading. ❤️

Right about the thriller part you said!

I find no connectivity with the thriller and the emotional parts! Looks like Maya's character is having split personality disorder

In a revenge show normally I enjoy the planning and plotting all driven by the conspirator (here Maya)! But here in today's scene I felt bad for Rishi as she deceived him. Of course she needs her revenge but at the same time I dont find it convincing even by the revenge way 🤔

There has to be a clear line of difference between MJ and Maya. The creatives have to show it to the audience! If she's just becoming a shadow of MJ, it will be hard for the audience to root for a character like that!

Rudra is bahurani or not, I don't know but these writers know nothing about thrillers.. The party where Maya led Antara to get high on drugs was the only time I saw some plan that Maya executed to ruffle a few feathers in Roy's family.. other than that where exactly is the revenge plan going? If Rishi indeed dies, then this will be the worst kind of revenge plots I wud'v ever seen. Being the one who was wronged, and is set out to take revenge, she should be able to have audience's empathy throughout.. I will take a reference from the movie chhapak that's based on the life of an acid attack victim.. If that girl just went and threw acid on the face of the man who did the crime, would that get her justice/revenge? She instead fought in a way that made the people sit up and take notice of the bigger issue not to mention the life and struggle of such acid attack victims.. Not expecting Maya to be that larger than life hero who is going to give a message to the society but is this even a revenge? If Rishi indeed dies, Maya is no better than MJ..like you said she has indeed imbibed MJ's darkness.. I would'v much appreciated if Maya had applied her brains to somehow make MJ lose everything, his company, his family n etc.. n go down on his knees to beg for forgiveness.. emotionally torment him to his own suicide maybe.. but if Rishi dies she would be just another cold blooded murderer..

Thank you. 😃.....There is no connectivity with the thriller part because the anti-heroine is doing random stuff in revenge after planning for 8-10 years. Like what did you plan? Murder? Slow claps. 🤓.....I get the schism between her dark and light side, because her mind is on revenge , but her heart which is in deep suffering runs to Rudra. Acceptable. But as an anti heroine, show me the skill of someone who has worked so hard on revenge. That is zilch.

True. When you plan for 8-10 years, you don't plan murder and childish trappings. You have a masterplan to bring down your adversary brick by brick. It's just not happening here. Rishi is collateral damage, but he deserved a more convincing and 'wow' end.

I can empathize with Maya but I cannot root for her , for many reasons. I can just wish her peace, whenever it comes. Because right now, she is a fragile mirror image of MJ who wove someone's death. What next? Both Maya and MJ trying to control Rudra?

Trust me, the thriller part writing is very very juvenile in this show. Your protagonist doesn't have a clear plan, your antagonist is underused and shown super stupid and incapable. Like, what's up, bro? That is not how a thriller is written. Every character has a clear graph and a clear plan that is thrown off by unexpected twists and turns.

And no, killing Rishi is not that twist!

I have accepted the fact that Maya has surrendered to the dark and she indeed is a shadow of MJ for me. Rudra was her hope. Now, i don't know. Even if Rudra falls madly in love with her or even if they get together, Rudra will never forgive what is going to turn out to be the greatest betrayal of his life.

And I agree - A PLANNED REVENGE IS BRINGING DOWN THE PERSON TO HIS/HER KNEES BEGGING FOR DEATH AND PEACE! Maya could have just killed them all years ago. Explain me the wait of 10 years, bro!

Can i be honest? Except for Rudra and Maya's dynamics , nothing is holding me to the show. At all.

I think that is the case with most of us.. Rudra Maya dynamics and the cast in general is good this time around.. but the writing is pretty shoddy and we are only lil over a month into the show? So I dunno, she wanted Rishi to come off age lol what was the 8-10 years long wait for? She could'v just hired a contract killer and finished them off one by one. What was her idea behind emotionally driving Rishi to commit suicide? M sincerely trying to find a logic behind this particular plan IF Rishi dies.. Have they shown his dead body yet.. not talking about him lying dead on the ground but actually his corpse in white cloth... So maybe maybe there still is a chance that Rishi fell unconscious and gets saved.. Even then, this is the worst planning one can have for revenge. Dark doesnt have to mean murder. How creatively stunted are these guys?

I wish Rishi survives, because his survival will make the show more interesting and put Maya on the backfoot, but it seems like they gave an ungracious and stupid exit to his character that actually had so much potential.

If the writers of this 'thriller' part of the show think death is darkness, then, I am sorry they have no idea what darkness of the human psyche actually looks like.

Exactly.. I know its unfair to compare this Maya to say someone like Hannibal Lecter, the epitome of dark characters but the power of writing is such there that you are bound to feel for even someone as dark as him.. and here Maya is the victim, the wronged one yet I dont feel for her.. her manipulations dint look smart to me because she played with the emotions of basically a kid who trusted her, loved her with all that he could offer.. I see no thrill of a revenge, a mastermind at work here..

Exactly. Power of writing. And in B2, we only have power of acting. 🤔
