Speculations so far.

Was meaning to do a proper review or analysis of the two episodes but short of time, so here are some speculations instead. It's still too early to be able to theorize, although, the following do have the potential to be true.

- Maya's reason for revenge appears to be based on a familial past than romantic one. The man she's hugging in the portrait could either be her father, brother or a close family member. The pose they're striking gives off platonic vibes. Not ruling out the possibility of a lover entirely but it doesn't seem so at least as of now. Whoever the man, he's most likely (obviously?) dead.

- There are two separate portraits we saw, right? The first one is perhaps Maya with her family member and this second one blackened out could be MJ with her. Can't still say much of the nature of the relationship they might have shared in the past.

- MJ is perhaps the real culprit. The man comes across as a loving and caring father and son but all that glitters isn't gold after all, right? Not quite sure if MJ's Rudra's step dad or MJ's wife is Rudra's step-mom. The reason for the bitterness Rudra has for MJ is confusing and unclear but hints quite strongly at an extra-marital affair which is why Rudra said, 'at least mujh mein choddne ki himmat toh hain'. In that case, these two are the biological and only parents of Rudra and Rishi.

- The woman who was tending to Rudra is also MJ's family? Is she MJ's sister? Rudra and Rishi's aunt? Sorry, I couldn't catch a lot of dialogues, right. MJ's mother seems to have a sour relationship with both her son and daughter which means they're a lot feuds in the family.

My speculation is that Maya was in love with MJ and maybe she belonged from a rich family. She must have been very sweet and innocent to fall into MJ’s trap who romanced her for her money. But maybe she realised that he’s married and her father/brother wanted MJ out of her life. That’s why MJ killed this person and when Maya went to save him, MJ hurt her too. Because this revenge seems to be too much for just a betrayal. Also maybe Maya asked MJ’s wife, mother and sons to help her gain justice but they wouldn’t help. That’s why she went into her dark revenge mode.

I think it's one portrait only.

The cause of bitterness can be EMA. Rishi also playfully commented something like that seeing Ananya & MJ. I couldn't catch properly the dialogue.

It was like Rishi, Bhai usko aise krun dekh rahe ho jaise hone wali bhabhi nahi, hamari nayi step mom ho or some jazz like that.
