So I was catching up with episodes I missed this week, and I realized how the makers seem to have conveniently forgotten their own story...
So, Zoya tells Aditya that she is used to celebrating her fathers birthday every year at an orphanage. Once she reaches the orphanage a few ladies bump into her and ask her if she has come to celebrate her fathers birthday like always, and later even lectures her about father-child relationship.
One knows, its only been a year since Zoya and Adi lost their spouses (as per their barsi logic)... and Zoya lived in Mussourie before that and had never come to Mumbai. How then did she come here every year?
