Except for the love realization track past week, show never focused on Harshad alone. I wonder what made you feel so.
After the suicide track, we had Virani comedy. It had role for both of them. Not much scope to act, that track was light hearted. The whole jungle track has good chemistry between both of them. Once Zoya saved from lion, once Adi helped her with leg wound. Once Zoya gave confidence to Adi about allah and once Adi reassured her about Arjuns arrival. It was giving both of them due space and importance.
After jungle track, we had case reopening track. Where Zoya was portrayed to be the wisest girl with big heart. She was in focus. Adi was blamed in the end as per the track. Both of them were again given screen space and scope but this time it was bit dominated by Zoya.
Then we had leap.
Then track before Adi comes back to India. The whole week showed how changed Zoya is, her present view towards life. She planned to get Adi back etc. A week only of Zoya and no Adi. Now, if we say the process of Zoya becoming successful in those 6 months isn't shown, the same applies with Adi. The struggle he went through in those six months, his reasoning behind running to Paris is all hidden, not properly portrayed. That leap was an unexplained leap to both the characters.
Now, after leap. It showed Zoyas changed version through several scenes like ice cream police scene, or retorting Anjana before ointment scene or that tauba sherni(after shower) scene. All focusing on what New Zoya is like, her strong personality and how she's attracting Adi. Both had space as well as importance.
Then the whole car rain episode. The fight was dominated by Zoya and Jenny nailed it. The saving scene was dominated by Adi and HC killed it.
Next realization track. Let's be clearer. "Adi's" realization track. For his realization, we can't expect Zoya to get more scope. Zoya realization is yet to come. We can't compare. This track is a sole Adi dominated track and it rightly is.
I think these two people gracefully let others out perform them according to the scene. So they create a beautiful balance. They have perfect screen space, scope, chemistry and what not.
I haven't seen Jenny's or HC's previous shows. But I became a die hard fan to her because of this show. She proved herself and is classy. I don't think she made any wrong choice choosing this show. In this show, she had a scope to perform almost every possible emotion - being broken, being cheated, hopeful, happy, sad, terrified, innocent, strong and what not. We await romance. That's it. Rest all done. That girl won over me.
Beyhadh was highly driven by Jenny. And whole credit went to her. Here both HC and Jenny are sharing the responsibilities and credits. So, sole credit or highest credit isn't given to her. Don't compare it with her previous show. See her as Zoya and Zoya alone. You'd love it.
