in other dramas, the reasons a couple can't be together are often class, status etc. here, the reason they can't be together is the ties that bind them. for better or worse, the two families are now linked and they went through all the problems caused by pooja-yash affair & accident together. so there is a connection between the two families. the tie that binds them is that past and that gets different reactions from the members.
for aditya and zoya, the past can never be undone and they are the only two people who knew what it felt like to be betrayed. so there is a deep connection that is now friendship and comfort because they were the only person who they could talk to at that time. now, that they have moved past that, the friendship instead of ending is blossoming even more and becoming deeper. so rather than breaking them down, the ties bind them even closer.
for arjun and noor (can we have more scenes of them please?), there is a connection where he saved her and so she knows that this is a guy she can trust 100%. also they understand each other's situation very well. when zoya was jailed and noor had no idea who to talk to, she called up her coffee nawaz and even though he couldn't directly address that he knew what was going on, his voice was of great comfort to her and likewise to him. so they know what it is like to see their sibling suffer, to not be able to do anything, to try control their crazy parents from overreaction.. they get it. so again, the ties bind them closer together.
for the parents, they all see it as bad luck and would like to cut the ties so that they are not reminded of the past. waseem is not that a fool and understands that any connections with the hoodas will bring its own dose of troubles and does not want to go through those kind of problems again. it was his daughter who ended up getting kidnapped by rajeev. and he wants her to move on.
my guess would be that arshad is either a divorcee or someone with a painful past and so waseem hopes that they would be able to make a connection. waseem is also hoping for a family from his own community so that his daughter is not rejected a second time by her in-laws. waseem has always understood and accepted zoya's limitations and worried for her, tired to bulldoze his way to try protect her. so he will not want any connection to hoodas because for him the ties that bind the two families is a painful chapter and he would rather not have his daughter reminded of the past. a fresh star would be better for her no? -- that would be his thinking...
for anjana, zoya represents a painful past twice. anjana herself was cheated on and abandoned for a short while. but she took her husband back and her son didn't forgive or understand her. she had to keep the pain in her heart like a stone but never addressed the affair directly. she didn't want to ask the painful questions.
what she doesn't understand is that people react differently to similar situations. aditya is very different from her. he wanted to know what happened. he wanted his questions answered and was going crazy -- so his borderline obsession with zoya in the first half of the drama. he wasn't at rest. now, that he found the answers, part of him has died and anjana is furious at what sakshi did to her son. part of her also blames zoya for it as a kind of naive thinking -- if this girl hadn't been there, then maybe her son would have just moved on. what she doesn't understand is that aditya was never that type -- he would have chased zoya to musoorie to find his answers if he had to.
zoya is also different from anjana in that she has faced her past and moved on. in that sense, it is also a sort of painful reminder for anjana in how some women move on while others are stuck there. zoya is a reminder of that painful tie to pooja and yash and that is something anjana would never want for her son aditya. she couldn't face her own past and why would she want her son to do so? so even if she wasn't the psycho vamp, she would oppose their love story because she wouldn't want her son to be hurt and also not to be hurt herself.
for papa hooda, the ties that bind are shameful. with zoya and noor in the family, all these gossipy people are forever going to comment on the affair and the stuff that happened. same goes for wasim and his wife. why would the two families want to be reminded of the past?
so the pooja - yash bit will definitely play into creating conflicts for the two love jodis and it will be interesting to watch. will we get more flashbacks or clarity into whether it was just an accident or murder? even without all that, just the emotional baggage is enough to create all sorts of drama...
