Pooja forever departed from Aditya. She opted to be with the one she wanted to be with till death her dying day. Yet she lives in Adi's living memories. Memories still fresh in his mind. She lives through her diary. Only her stated recollections reduce Adi to being one dead man. A husband most sincere, mocked in the face.
Such disparity, that her diary seems sheer propaganda used to softens readers minds. To Validates her marital infidelity. Her diary too like Sakshi and Zoya, denounces EMA on the face of it. But also seems to point the finger at Adi's cavalier husband skills! As far as he was concerned he gave Pooja, his sincere friendship, protection ,shelter and love. Only her diary, now becomes a bitter spoonful of Quinine that he has to gulp to face himself and the world at large! The diary stares him in the face as evidence of what Sakshi and Zoya both tried to impress upon him.
Amid stinging tears, he takes in facts, he was unaware of.. that Pooja only just, barely maintained to keep up the faade of their marriage. The diary regurgitates factors that led to her EMA. To Adi ,they seem more like her justifications for veering off towards another man. But what shatters Adi considerably is how both Pooja, and courtesy of her diary, now, the whole world concludes, that he was the reason Pooja crossed boundaries out of the pure bond of marriage.
Adi sees for himself, Pooja's diary also becomes a strategically worded damning report about him. Adi as her husband. Its ironic how he was inquisitive to discover, just what his pretty wife thought of her best friend perfect husband. Now as he weeps in this scene, he clearly expected her to write lovey dovey bits about him! she never gave him any other vibes, other than she was well satisfied with him ! But to his horror it turns about to be utterly contrary to what he always assumed.. More than ever before Adi needed his memory reasoning to understand his manner with Pooja. To grasp that he was the best friend, she married out of love. But she couldn't sense his love! That she was just there around him! totally invisible to him as a woman! .
This was all news to him, and its no wonder he, crashes emotionally to the fact Pooja outlines in her diary! That he was no way near being the perfect husband. Her diary which he was always keen to skim through, gives him both a warm feeling of being accepted by her as his best friend. Plus a feeling, of self- condemnation for not being the husband that Pooja aspired for.
Pooja's dirty diary as I see it now succeeds in flagging up guilt, about their imperfections in both Adi and Zoya. Perhaps their tears after reading the contents, will wash away the guilt of imperfections they failed to give due diligence ,to. I also see this dirty diary as a harsh stringent measure used to punish two innocent souls namely Aditya and Zoya, whose one mistake was fidelity in marriage? or are they being punished for being to laid back in their marriages? taking their partners for granted?
Regards Pooja pregnancy and Adi unreadiness to starting a family. I was pleased to see that the cv's addressed the issue that Adi despite his childish attitude would prove to be a good father and would accept the baby if Pooja told him about her pregnancy..
The issue about Pooja told Adi about her pregnancy , but his reaction of booking their annual holidays makes her back out completely, is just not good enough reason for Pooja to withhold such a key news from her husband. Furthermore to decide to abort the baby. Pooja may have desired a baby.. but by Yash at her side, everything related to Adi she wanted as history. Hence to me joke or not? telling Adi about the pregnancy was just to get it off her chest! For his reaction smart Pooja already could predict that Adi would freeze! And she would go mum.. and do what she needed to do!
The storm that beats outside at this point.. reflects the grief in Adi' s whole being! Guilt according to Pooja's cleverly chosen diary words, floods him.. he views the abortion as Pooja's sacrificing the thing she loved most! To have a baby! All for Adi's sake! floods of tears pour out of his eyes.
The scene is poignant, once more he sits on the foot of their nuptial bed.. last time its was holding Pooja's pregnancy report! This time crying his eyes out over the diary that tells him about his imperfections that made Pooja abort their baby!
It was significant how the powerful scene ends with Adi lying down at the foot of their bed in a foetal position! Crying his eyes out! Well done cvs for the direction!
Foetal position is not just about,that Adi grieves the loss of his baby too! Foetal posture also signifies how Adi looked up to Pooja.. she was the nurturing, maternal figure who would fix things for him. He always saw her, as being the sensible one between the two! Himself being the child who needed direction. I was pleased to see that he did put the onus on Pooja that she should have been more assertive in making him aware that she was not joking! That she was really carrying his child! But Pooja we know had her own agenda!
Adi should know by now that like the foetus, he too has to push his way out of a protected, yet restricted position. Come into a world where he learns to live without his maternal Pooja's life source! Be born again! To brace the "brave new world!
The tempest rages on both outside and inside Hooda house! Anjana manages to shut the doors and windows from the frenzy reaching into the house. However some mysterious storm within her and Harsh's hearts too disturbs her. How will they contain that storm from bringing disrepute to their family name.. would this building tempest be Yash and Pooja's death?
As usual Anjana blames Zoya for creating havoc in Aditya's life! To her the girl is bad news!
Zoya's heart too contains a raging storm.. she has no news of Adi and fears he may self harm himself! Wish she hadn't given him the diary to read to find out the truth for himself. Does Zoya too feel her friend would not be able to cope with the truth?? thank heaven's Noor reminds Zoya..Adi was bound to discover the truth.. eventually, if she and Sakshi hadn't told him! but Zoya cannot help but worry about Adi.. he is a dear friend with whom she entrusts her very life!
Without the influence of Harsh and Waseem. Arjun ,Adi and Zoya.. turn up before the magistrate.. request a review of papers submitted by Harsh Hooda.. Adi signs.. some documents. Turns to face Zoya calmly.. she wonders what new tempest is this calm lion brewing up? Adi's eyes gave her a warm look.. almost telling her ..keep guessing baby.. Adi always attacks from the front! 7.7.18
