Bepannah ~My thoughts ep 47~22.5.18 A totally different ball game
Anything that deviates from day to day monotony, and provides a fresh, sporty recreation not only for match contenders but the audience too is sure to be received wholeheartedly. The show felt totally different from that what I am used to watching. The episode disposes off repeated closed indoor setting . In exchange as viewers we are led into the natural sunlit terrain and surroundings of the cricket pitch. The characters literally glow in the pastime, robust and charged mood. At the same time, we get to see much gutsy spunk in the game plan. For Zosh the agenda is to win the contract from the Virani's ,which will ease the event company out of the prevailing doldrums.
Even before the cricket match begins. The silent yet visible game plan between Aditya and Zoya surges forward. Sagarika, seems to be the cupid love guru who champions Aditya's cause of scoring a further emotional goal with Zoya. She dares Aditya being a man, to court Zoya with an open arm invite for a hug.
Zoya is clearly hesitant, he is neither friend nor foe to her then how can she submit herself in the circle of his arms? This was nothing like she had experienced before. He was a stranger to her in that respect. Yet one look at her team. Clarifies matters for her. Both Adi and her are merely in role. Like it or not. Both are equally involved in this game of duplicity. Zoya realizes, yet again, some roles like posing to be married are quite burdensome to carry through. Impromptu requests are made, for close quarter body contact, even if only to show pure affection. But for both Adi and Zoya a hug may mean more than implied. She just has to give the act a touch of reality, whether it's morally appropriate or not! Thus according to the game plan, if Aditya plays his part to win the contract, then Zoya too has to play in partnership with him. Zoya reciprocates his move and both score much applause when an embrace does take place between these paired players! The fleeting moment of too close for comfort, is captured as a permanent photo by some figure hidden in the foliage. Who is keeping tab's on this couple? Mahi seems displeased by Aditya and Zoya's, growing closeness. She will from now on try to differentiate between when these two act? And when their actions, reflect their true feelings! Mahi reckons perhaps she needs to be more proactive in pulling Adi out of Zoya's innocent, harmless grasp?
Back at Hooda house, it's no surprise when Anjana bids the gardener to do away with the weeds, she then stares at, an on her way out Sakshi. Sakshi to Anjana is symbolic of being like a wild, creeper that spreads, chokes and stunts the growth of flowers! Just like her boys, Arjun and Aditya are smothered by the influence Sakshi has over them! Had it been in Anjana's power, she would pull this weed and dispose off it!
Noor wishes to retain her job and works at developing an amicable working relationship with Arjun. Both meet at the caf, where Sakshi turns up to deliver the ransom money for collection by the unknown blackmailer. She spots Arjun, while the girl with him, spots Sakshi's forgotten handbag . Sakshi has to take it with her. Arjun observes Sakshi looks peaky. Doesn't take Arjun long to abandon his date he put much planning into, to take his aunt home. Goes to show the utmost value both brothers attach to Sakshi. The caf scenario, fails in purpose for both Arjun and Sakshi. She has the ideal opportunity to share her issue with Arjun, he too was like a son for her. Maybe on the ride home,Sakshi will open up to Arjun ,who knows? Why does she prefer to battle her issues on her own?
Let the cricket match begin! The adrenaline pumps on both sides Virani v Zosh !bandstand, pitch ,score board are ready! Zoya and Aditya steal glances. Must be wicked to see her in tracks, polo shirt ,her thick hair twisted and scrunched under the cap! Very cute and different! Seeing her out of her flowing, willowy , elegant pastel shades out fits! Here on the pitch its Him and Her in the same cricket kit!
But what's, any game without the dressing room drama!where lads will be lads! Adi the drama king gets his head stuck in his kit! Zoya reluctantly steps into unbutton his kit! Yet another one of his boyish delinquent deeds! Much to Zoya's disdain , with pleasure he strips to the torso! more to give the poor girl a shock! Poor lass by now knows that how easily Aditya s buttons switch on to do the extraordinary! It's an exercise in futility to button up his over exburance! One of which is to unfasten his surplus energy! and display his athletic physique! Only Zoya has to time and again control herself.. prevent herself from letting Aditya press her buttons of extreme reactions at his bold , brash , behaviour!
Well the female who rightly delights in the visual display of his exposed sinewy torso! Turns up much displeased at Zoya's presence in the men's dressing rooms . But Aditya suddenly feels bare before Mahi! and with a startle covers his chest! Miffed Mahi literally shoos Zoya away ,and gives Aditya the come hither looks in him. With the proposition, she'll press the right buttons on him ,if he allows her!
Aditya, is floored by her interest he wishes if only Mahi knew with her, it's a painstaking act.. while with Zoya, when his act becomes reality is hard to make out! For some switches are being turned on. Some buttons are being pressed.. some grievances are being undone! The button scene is another ice breaker between Adi and Zoya! aimed to clear decorum, convention between two people performing an act!
Looking the part! dressed in separate team colours cricket kits, both teams look spot on! Kanti Virani is rearing to go! One ball of energy! but the old traditionalist kicks up a fuss at seeing Sagarika dressed in a cricket kit like the blokes! Funny he prefers not to see Zosh event women dressed in home cricket kits. I think it's a reminder, to Sagarika, this immodesty in attire is only tolerated as a one off! After that she'll will be back to her usual veiled, modest, attire!
The game begins! Under Aditya's game plan .. Zoya to continue appeasing him by referring to him as his highness! Her contract with him, continues unconditionally! In the cricket match itself, the game strategy is to let the Virani's win! Let Zoya who wouldn't know what to do with the ball or bat! Act as the bowler for Kanti! Aditya knew with a woman balling,the man would make a sixer hattrick!!
The whole match is entertaining! Kanti's anti women comments are hilarious, as none of his family support his gender discriminatory comments! Zoya in a frenzy becomes a ball of fire! Hell bent to knock the old Virani out! Kanti does strike a sixer! Aditya stops the disaster, dashes! to stop Zoya from catching out the old guy and! they collide against each other! Into the famous much repeated scene between them... where Adi ends up flat out on the pitch! with Zoya , rather conveniently ending atop him! But the unpredictable happens alongside! The ball is caught by a stranger. Rajvir! Both Zoya and Aditya find their feet while the stranger with the ball in his palm,, comments clean balled! .. out! Hamlet53 23.5.18
The episode, I suspect is probably in keeping with the cricket season of IPL? Its interesting to see how the world of sport too is subjected to biased mindsets .The good thing is entertainment world is churning up shows that are beginning to challenge gender bias..
