Dear friends as a habit I dont watch shows in Colors. But I couldnt keep away from Bepannah because of not just the leads but also the PH and the intriguing promos. So watched the first episode today. As expected it was symbolic and beautiful.
The story of Aditya and Zoya is symbolically represented in that gramaphone over which they fought. The gramaphone represents past, old memories. The past connects them. The memories of the past that goes from him to her and then from her to him. Both not willing to let go of them. Both willing to fight for them. Memories of Zoya and Yash where Aditya has invaded and memories of Pooja and Aditya which Zoya had invaded. Where does this end. When Aditya put colors on Zoya and goes. Zoya stops fighting and with a message the gramaphone or the past breaks from Aditya's hands.

It is the journey of Aditya and Zoya to let go of their past and accept the present. Till they can do it, their life will have the turmoil. It will move back and forth, one point to another.

Now coming to character analysis. Aditya doesnt love secrets, but Pooja is a woman who believes every human has secrets. Zoya is also a very open minded girl, but Yash seems to have secrets. There is something that is not going right between Yash and Zoya's father.

How the secret of their partners affect open minded Aditya and Zoya both of whom are full of life. Aditya who can make the impossible possible and Zoya who can cheer up anything and everything. Did they deserve what they got in life. Did they deserve those secrets. What happens when you are faced with the dilemma abt your partner as faced by Aditya and Zoya. In other words what makes a good marriage. Why a partner can drift away from seemingly normal marriage, when on the face of it the other partner doesnt have any problem. Or have they really drifted away or something else has happened between Pooja and Yash which is mistook as affair.

Shruthi we meet again. 🤗

I couldn't keep away either: (1) for the leads, and (2) the promos intrigued me.

I just posted this in another thread and I think on top of what you just said, this is something worth considering as well.

The first episode was really nice. There were some loopholes in an otherwise crisp story and one I wish to mention has been there since the promos came out. When a car is falling into a ditch why would 2 people grab onto each other's hand and hold tight instead of trying to stop the car or get out or brace themselves? Now let's assume that they committed suicide, then how in the hell did the police get them out of the car so that their hands were still clasped together? Why not separate their hands to pull them out?

Now the above could actually be a plot twist and not a loophole. Maybe everything is indicating an extra marital affair, but in the end it turns out to be nothing like that and the two were just friends who were framed in a way that it looked like an affair so an otherwise big case could be closed as a simple accident or suicide case.

I do like the characters of both Aditya and Zoya and their spouses, Pooja and Yash, are nice contrasts to them.

Hii Shruti it's nice to see you here. I was there on Beyhadh forum along with you. And even here you have given a brilliant analysis of gramaphone. It is important that Aditya and Zoya face the reality.
No one deserves secrets as such but I can already see where Yash and Pooja are stemming from. Yash wants to keep Zoya happy, and is burdened under this stress so much that he cannot be honest around her (Remember how Zoya said while making the heart that you will appreciate it even if you didn't like it). It is really difficult for him because he cannot be his real self around Zoya.
As for Pooja she wants someone more caring and dependable or at least someone who can listen to her. She admires Aditya but she also is tired of babysitting Aditya.
Aditya and Zoya on the other hand are happy with this setting. They do get the feeling that something is off but they are not going to recognise it because if if the love and the trust that they have for their spouses. Now that the trust is broken, let's see how they cope with it.
Also I noticed the way Aditya was talking about cheaters, maybe it is something related to his dad. In fact the moment he saw Pooja and Yash's hand together he came to a conclusion - clearly shows that he is extremely sensitive to the topic of cheating.
On the other hand Zoya is too naive and gullible. I think she will probably take a long time accepting the reality while Aditya would have more problems adjusting to the reality.

Guys...Awesome analysis!!! Cannot believe a simple random forum like this has such deep thinking minds.
Is it possible that the makers didn't think of such connections while picking a simple gramophone but just felt right because of the script and characters. Or did they deliberately pick a gramophone that signified much more than just a pretty present. Guess we'll never know.

But I also think Aditya and Zoya both picked it not because they liked it, but because they both knew that Yash and Pooja would love to get it as a present. They both loved old songs, and particularly the 'Abhi na jao' song. I dont think Aditya's taste would be in such old, slow, romantic songs, his music would be much lively, fast paced and fun. And Zoya probably would've liked whatever Yash liked to listen. Either she never really thought what she'd like on her own, or she wouldn't have concentrated much on the music, she'd just love to have something playing in the background. So they both picked something their spouses would love.

And that could be a connection that Yash and Pooja would have too. They both loved old melodies, that could be how they both got to know each other in the first place. And maybe their love for such old songs got them closer and over the time they realized how compatible they were, how happy their time together was, how much they enjoyed each other's company, how how free they felt from their not-so-lovey-dowey marriages, and mainly how incomplete their lives were with Zoya and Aditya...and then realized that they both meant much more to each other. But since they both loved their spouses and couldn't think of hurting them, they were secretly doing stuff which came into the open unexpectedly on that fateful night...

I too think that story is more than jus an extra marital affair btw pooja and yash, there is another mystery about their relationship!
Zoya believes that Yash wasn't a cheater and Aditya is sure that Pooja betrayed him, Zoya and Aditya are on two different sides here and it is to be seen that who will win this believe game?
i just loved the first episode and am really excited for upcoming episodes, especially Zoya n Aditya's crackling scenes!😳

Great work on finding the symbolism in the gramophone. I felt that it was a major symbol for the day as well. There was a huge chase and it definitely meant all of what you mentioned above. Alas, the precious little gramophone breaks and so does the rosy tinted love lives of the protagonists. I felt something was awfully fishy since the makers wouldn't just reveal such a major plot twist months before the show goes on the floors. There's a lot a layers to peel before we know the degree of involvement between their spouses. Let's get started on this journey. Looking forward to reading more insightful posts from you 😊

So true. You did a great job making connections tonight. Aditya's sensitivity to betrayals, secrets and adultery was well presented in that one conversation between him and Pooja and the fact that he jumped to conclusions instantaneously and tries to make Zoya believe the same as well seems like the major conflict that his character is built around. Whereas, Zoya seems to be ready to explore the other aspects of that story. The friction between Aditya's father and him might have cropped from the same. Good observation on! Wow, you guys are already digging in so deep. This is going to be a very exciting journey. Looking forward to more analysis from you already 👏
